They Saw Us

Annie's POV

I was up in my room making my bed when a piece of folded paper fell off the bed. I leaned over to pick it up. I unfolded the paper to find Harry's handwriting scrawled across the page. Oh right, I thought. The song he wrote. Just as I walked over to my desk and tucked the paper in the drawer, a pink card caught my eye. I pulled it out and read the top. "You are invited to celebrate the wedding of Alice Brooks and Thomas Crawford" OH MY GOSH! My cousin's wedding is tomorrow! I've been so busy lately that I completely forgot! I called Niall immediately to ask him to go with me. I sat on my bed listening to the phone ring wondering how in the world I forgot about this and what I will wear, when Niall's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Hey babe," he said. I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Hey, so I was looking through my desk just now, and I found the invitation to my cousin's wedding. It's tomorrow, and I was wondering if you would like to go with me. Actually, ask all the guys to come."

"Hmm, tomorrow? I think that could work," he says cheekily.

"Ok great. So do you want to come over today?"

"Ugh, I can't! We have five different interviews today. I'm sorry, Ann."

"That's ok, I understand," I said, hiding the disappointment in my voice. "Oh, by the way, you will be meeting my parents there..."

"Oh... Great! I can't wait!"

"Are you sure you're ready?" I asked.

"Yeah, it'll be fine!" he assured me.

"Ok, I hope so. My mom will love you, I don't know about my dad... Well I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Ok, bye babe. Love you."

"Love you too!" I hung up and went straight to my closet. 'What will I wear?' I thought. I pulled everything out in search of a decent dress. Then I remembered the most beautiful dress I saw in a window the other day when I was shopping with Claire. I yelled down to her. "CLAIRE! We need to go shopping! NOW!"

*The next day*

I slipped on my black lace pumps and examined myself up and down in the mirror. My satin, plum colored dress fit snugly around my body, the layers of ruching hugging my curves in all the right places. It ended just above the knees, showing off my smooth sun kissed legs. My long hair cascaded around the right side of my face, falling in luxurious dark curls. My eyes stood out like black diamonds surrounded by the light natural makeup. I couldn't help but smile. 'Well... Not too bad!' I happily thought to myself. I grabbed my small black clutch and sauntered out the door and down the stairs, careful not to fall and break my ankle in these skyscraper heels. I mean after all, I just got my leg cast off two days ago! There, sitting at the table, was Niall, dressed in a formfitting black suit with a white buttoned up shirt underneath, a black tie neatly tucked in. He looked stunning. His eyes darted to the stairs as I made my grand entrance into the kitchen. He let out a quiet gasp as his eyes widened. He stood up and smiled, appreciatively eyeing me up and down before breathing out the words, "You look... breathtaking." I blushed and flashed him a bright smile. "Thanks," I said. He put his hands on my hips and pulled me into him. I was just an inch away from those perfect lips of his when Claire, Louis, and Harry entered. "Whoa! Annie you look incredible!" exclaimed Harry. Claire grinned and said, "You look beautiful, Ann!"

"Thanks, guys. You don't think it's too much?" I asked, unsure about such a fancy outfit.

"Are you kidding? It's perfect," said Claire. She checked her watch. "Oh I have to go, and so do you guys!" She had a dinner to go to to celebrate her parents' anniversary. Harry and Louis stood there in outfits similar to Niall's. They were the only two joining us. "Well, let's go then!" said Louis. Niall put his hand on my lower back and guided me to the car.
