Sofie's POV

Sweet baby Jesus this can't be happening.

Sam's parents walked out and my eyes almost poped out of their sockets.

Patrick and Carrie are indeed the Patrick and Carrie my parents used to be friends with. I noticed Lauren gasping as well so I tried to regain my composure. suddenly now very determined to go through with this and make sure if my parents were right or not

" Hi kids" the woman said approaching us

" Hi Mrs Woods" Lauren said clearing her throat

" Oh please, Call me Carrie. it's a pleasure to have you guys over. don't just stand in the hallway, come in" Carrie said with a sweet tone and a welcoming smile. I don't know about you but she seems like a really sweet woman to me. Lauren and I walked into the living room following Sam and Max then their parents went back into wherever they came out from

" i like your house" Lauren said casually looking around

" Thanks " Sam and Max said in unison then fist pumped each other

Patrick then came into the living room with a welcoming smile on his face and took a seat next to Max on the couch

We just kept talking about random shit for a while. Neither me nor Lauren knowing how to approach the subject of newborn Sam. A while later Carrie announced that dinner was ready and we got seated on the table.

We have to do this now. or else we might never get the chance again. I gave lauren a meaningful look and she nodded her head very gently in response

" So, doesn't Sam have any embarrassing stories from when she was younger?!" Lauren said out of the blue. but it actually didn't seem all that suspicious. she looked like she genuinely wanted to know embarrassing stories about Sam. When her mom and dad looked at each other and smiled softly then started to speak animatedly i let out a little sigh of relief

they kept talking about how she always used to sneak into their room at night when she was about 5 and secretly cut a strand of their hair then rush out of the room.

cool story and all but this is seriously not why Lauren and I are here

"Was she a noisy baby?" i asked with a soft smile and praying that this goes smoothly and we don't get our asses kicked

" oh lord! she would keep us up the whole night because she was crying for no apparent reason, it was painful" Carrie said sighing dramatically

" i got bored at night and none of you would be up to play with me" Sam said defensively

" And how exactly do you know that?! you were 5 months old at the time" Patrick said chuckling a little

the told us a couple of more stories, and none of them involved Sam being two months old or younger. which was making me even more suspicious that I already was.

" Was she a pain in the butt while giving birth to her and being pregnant with her as well?" Lauren asked smoothly. and I saw Carrie tense in her seat for a second before putting on a fake smile and saying " no she was alright?"

" tell us the story of you giving birth to her, I'm sure Sam here caused one hell of a mess" Lauren said then I saw Patricks eyes narrow for a second. before he got up, his plate still half full, and said he was done, told Carrie to help him with something in the kitchen, then excused himself and left along with his wife

Lauren and I exchanged and knowing look then I noticed Sam staring at the direction of the kitchen with a confused expression on her face

" what's up with them?" Sam asked Max

" I dont know buddy. Dad is probably just on his period or something." Max said playfully earning a playful punch on his arm from Sam

" Sorry about them, that was rude" Sam said turning to Lauren

" Oh it's okay we were probably talking too much anyway" Lauren asked smiling softly at Sam

" No, it can't be that, maybe-" Sam was cut off by her parents entering the dining room once again with sketchy smiles on their faces

" Whenever you guys are done just place the plates in the sink alright? " Carrie said directing her words at Sam

" it was really nice having you but we kind of have to be somewhere. it's an emergency. you guys enjoy the rest of the evening" Patrick said smiling at us, his eyes lingering on Lauren for a moment.

" Did something happen?" Sam asked her parents concerned

" No sweetheart you dad just got an emergency call from work and I'm going to run a few errands.we'll probably be out late. you guys have fun" Carrie said again with that fake smile

" Can Patterson and Adams spend the night since im not going to be here tonight and you're going to be out too late? I don't want Sam staying here all alone" Max asked his parents

" Just because your sister is not into guys doesn't mean she's allowed to have sleepovers with guys Max. you should know better " Patrick said firmly. Max burst out laughing at that.

" Adams and Patterson are Sofie and Lauren dad. I'd never let Sam sleepover with guys." Max said throwing his arms around Sam's shoulder protectively

" Your Last name is Adams?" Carrie asked. her voice betraying her because it came out shaky, she looked uneasy. Scared even.

Shit. thanks Max

" uhh, Yeah" i answered not knowing if i should have lied. i mean if i said it wasn't then Sam and Max would say it was and I'd get caught in a lie and we really didn't need that right now

" That's nice. goodbye guys" Patrick said then rushed his wife out the door.

" Something is seriously wrong with mom" Sam said to Max who still had his arms around her shoulder

" She's probably on her period too" Max said again earning a shove in the side by Sam

" Do you guys want to sleep over?" Sam asked Smiling at lauren slightly

" actually we really have to leave. We have an early curfew today, so we'll see you at school tomorrow?" i said and I swear I could see disappointment in Sam's eyes for a moment there

" Yeah sure, see you tomorrow" she said smiling again. We said our goodbyes and Lauren and I headed to the car

" Holy shit!" i said wide eyed staring into space.

" My thoughts exactly. your parents weren't shitting us this is actually true!" Lauren said with a dazed expression on her face

" we have to tell them about this! Drive!" i urged.

Lauren snapped out of whatever daydream she was having and started driving in the direction of my house.

I had a lot on my mind. Like: trying to accept the fact that I do indeed have a twin sister.

that that twin sister is probably Sam

That mom and dad are definitely going to try and get her back soon which could or could not end well.

And that the Woods were probably onto us. which made thing so much more complicated than they already were.

I am not going to Cast this story because it's always cool to just imagine the character in your head and make them look However you want.

but, I always have Camila Cabello on my mind when I'm writing anything regarding Lauren. so if i were casting this story, Lauren would probably be Camila Cabello.

If you don't like that you can just continue picturing her however you want
