Stakeout kids.

Sam's POV

" Nothing! we are going to do nothing. The police are going to deal with him and we're just going to wait for that!" Lauren said looking at us like we'd grown two heads.

" please stop your girlfriend from saying none sense Sam" Max said with a straight face

did he really have to throw that girlfriend thing in? leave it to max to make every possible situation completely awkward

" uh, I'm not-"

" yeah we're not in a relationship"

" are you kidding me? you haven't asked her to be your girlfriend yet? Are you stupid? " Max said looking at me like I'm a complete moron.

like fuck this can we please talk about the issue at hand?

"we'll talk about this later Max" i said trying to get him to stop

"Later when?" He asked

" anytime but now Max" i said through my teeth. I glanced a look at lauren to find her trying to look anywhere but me.

" so you're going to help me with this?" i asked Max trying to get back to the main topic of discussion

" hell yeah, we've been partners in crime ever since we were in diapers, plus I need some action in my life. things have been absolutely annoying at home" Max said

" Lauren where exactly does Jared live?"i asked lauren

" um, I'm definitely not going to tell you" Lauren said looking at the both of us in disbelief

" Why" Max whined

"because you're obviously about to do something completely stupid" she replied in a duh tone

" Lauren we're going to find out everything we want whether you tell us or not. so please just make this easy" I said

she didn't reply. she just looked at me with a thoughtful expression probably think in of her all her options and the possible outcomes in her head

" so you want to kick Jared's ass for what he's done to your best friend or not?" Max asked Lauren

"yeah but-"

" so you seriously think we should let him get away with this? Jared is still a junior. so he's most probably still a minor. I think the worst punishment the police could give him is community service or something. Do you really think he should get away with what he did for sofie that easily?" i said cutting her off, trying to make a point

" no" she sighed

" then help us with this!" Max said nodding at her encouragingly

" he lives two houses down from mine" She replied looking at her feet in a defeated tone.

i grabbed her by the neck and placed her lips on mine for a second. Then pulled back

" you're the very best " i said with a smile

" are you sure you guys aren't girlfriends? " Max asked raising an eyebrow at us

" shut up" i replied flicking his ear.

Lauren's pov

" so what now?" i asked once we were all standing in front of the gate of Jared ' s house

" what time are his parents home?" Sam asked me

" i dont know " i replied

" Are you kidding? they live literally just like, two houses away from you" Max said

" yeah but I'm rarely even home I'm always at sofie's" i said a little defensively

" guess we'll have to find out for ourselves then" Sam said with a sigh

" yeah but how?" i asked her confused

" prepare yourselves for a stakeout tonight kids" Sam said in mock enthusiasm
