Where did my twin go?

Sofie's POV

we walked into my house in a rush to find mom and dad sitting on the couch looking anxious. Once my dad spotted us he stood up

" what happened?" he asked. it was obvious that he's stressing out about this. maybe even more than my mom. my mom has always been relaxed no matter what happens so im not really surprised

" it's really them dad" i said softly

" i knew it!" my mom exclaimed jumping off the couch

" calm down Sarah you look like a child on Christmas eve" Lauren said chuckling lightly

" what happened down there?!" Dad asked rubbing his palm against his pants

" we walked in, and her parents came out and they were the two people you showed us the picture of so we thought that was weird, then we started having dinner and we asked them a bunch a questions then when we started getting into the serious questions they tensed and excused themselves and said they had to be somewhere" i explained to my eager looking parents who were both now standing up.

" guys!" Lauren said. I looked at her to find her clutching onto her phone with an unreadable expression on her face

" is something wrong honey?" Mom asked lauren softly

" i dont know. Sam just texted me saying that she has to see me and that's it's super important" Lauren said still staring at her phone with a panicked voice

" she probably wants to ask you out again or something why do you look so panicked?" i asked my best friend

" i dont know. maybe her parents told her something and she wants to fight with us or something. You never know what Could have happene-" Lauren was cut off by the door bell ringing. nobody made a move to open the door

" that's her" Lauren. said staring at the door

" open the door then, let her in" Dave said looking almost as panicked as Lauren

" calm down guys, whats wrong with you? I'm going to let her in" i said calmly then headed to the door. i opened the door to find a nervous looking Sam standing behind it. I waved at her and she just smiled sheepishly

Sam's POV

"hi Sofie, is Lauren there?" i asked trying not to show how nervous i was feeling

" yeah she's inside, come in" Sofie said moving aside to make way for me to step in

" um, can you just call her out? I only have a couple of minutes till I have to be back" i urged her but before she could move Lauren appeared behind her

" Hi" Lauren said giving me a small wave. i just smiled in return

" can i talk to you for a second?" i asked scratching the back of my neck unintentionally

" uh, ill go" Sofie said then she walked back into the house.

" are you sure you don't want to come in?" Lauren asked me still fiddling with the doorknob

" no I just really need to tell you something and I don't have much time" I said taking her hand in mine, sitting down on a porch step and pulling her down to sit next to me

" look i dont know how to say this exactly. i know we're not really together but I like you a lot, and honestly I was planning on asking you to be my girlfriend soon because I want you to be mine, I really do. now I might not get the chance to do that but I really want you to know how special, beautiful and absolutely amazing i think you are and I really wanted-" my rambling was cut by Lauren pulling me towards her and crashing her lips onto mine.
