If there is a room full of boring and lazy people, then I'll volunteer to join them. I don't how to deal with myself or with my life. All I want is to write, but people choose to ignore my words, my freedom to say of what's going on with this world.
Life must go on. I know, that's what I always write on my blog and everyone should realize that.
After class, I was heading home when,
"Hey!"
I heard a voice coming towards me. When I turned to see who it was, my heart skipped a beat. It was Tyler, although most people called him Ty. What the heck was he doing here?
"Uhh, hey Ty... What's up?" He'd come back from studying abroad and we'd been talking on and off. Which is weird, because I don't usually like talking to anyone.
"Nothin'. Just stopping through the neighborhood. Nah, I lied. I'm going to school here." He smirked and pulled his bag over his shoulders.
"Oh really?" I said, focusing on a few pebbles on the sidewalk.
"Yep! Video game programming, specifically focusing on C++ and engine frameworks."
"Oh, you're still doing that..." I looked up. "Ty, I don't get it. Why do you do that?"
"Why do I do what?" he asked.
"Video games are fun to play every once in a while, but like..." I tried to find the right words. "We're adults now and... well..."
"Candice..." Ty turned towards me.
Oh gosh, I messed up. Why did he have to come up now? I was already in kind of a bad mood.
"This is something I genuinely like doing. And I could say the same thing about what you're doing. Why spend time writing? This is 2018, nobody reads anymore."
"Yeah but... This is different." I looked back down at the ground. He was joking, but that really hurt. My goal is to show people the truth of the things going on around them. Video games are just, well, games.
"Ya busy?" Ty asked, breaking me out of my train of thought.
