Draco Malfoy swung in the hammock he'd made off the gazebo in the courtyard of Malfoy Manor as he bit into a juicy green apple.
He closed his eyes as he tasted the succulent juices engulf his mouth, filling him with joy. In Draco's opinion, there was no better feeling than biting down into a crispy fresh apple on a beautiful day.
"Draco!"
His eyes snapped open as he heard his mother's clicking heels get louder and louder as she approached him. He grunted and swung his leg off the hammock to support his weight on the ground.
"What?" He said cooly to her.
She gave him a flat look. "No need to sound so excited dear." She said perching herself on a ledge off the side of the gazebo.
Draco huffed and threw himself back into the hammock. "No need to get so comfortable, what do you want?" He said to her, taking another bite out of his apple.
"Well," she started nervously.
Draco shot her an impatient look.
"It's just that you're going on 23 this year love. And well don't you think it's high time you found a suitable wife and mother of your children?" Narcissa scratched her nose and looked off into the distance as though there was nothing remotely awkward about what she was saying.
Draco dropped his apple and swore. She didn't understand what it was like being him. Bimbo girls threw themselves at him on a daily basis and sometimes he'd take them up on their offer but at this moment there wasn't a single one of them that came to his mind that would even half measure up to what was required of a Malfoy. Most decent girls were either scared of him or worried that involving themselves with him would bring about a bad name to their own family names.
"I'll find someone when I'm ready mother." Draco snapped back.
"Draco, darling it's been four years!" Said an exasperated Narcissa.
"And it'll bloody well be another four if you don't stop pestering me! You've already ruined my apple, do you want to ruin anything more?!" Draco shouted.
Narcissa's face slackened showing no emotion whatsoever. "Draco, what have you been taught about letting your emotions show huh? We couldn't let the world see how we truly feel now could we?" She smirked as she stood from the gazebo ledge. She walked over to her son and bent down.
"Enough's enough Draco. You will be engaged by the years end. If I were you I'd start dating right away." She tapped his shoulder and started off back towards the house. She paused and turned back to face him. "Unless of course, you'd rather marry a complete stranger of my choosing?" She smirked at her son once more before heading into the house.
Draco swore aloud. Women really know how to grind your gears huh?
