When Hermione got to Madam Puddifoot's Diagon Alley Tea Shop, she felt her stomach turn. She was partially glad she hadn't eaten any breakfast.

Madam Puddifoot's tea shop in Hogsmeade was notorious for spotting loved up teenage couples on corny dates and the interior was cheesier than cheddar itself. She doubted that the Diagon Alley shop was much different.

Why Ronald insisted on meeting here was beyond her but she knew better than to expect that it was just a friendly lunch date to him.

Hermione stepped into the vibrant pink room. The whole interior was covered from ceiling to floor in every shade of pink imaginable. There were frilly pink poofs, velvet pink chaise lounges in the corner and even the waitresses worked pink uniforms. Hermione dreaded to think what may have happened on those pink chaise lounges and so quickly averted her eyes from the secluded area they sat in.

In amongst all the sickly overwhelming pink, she spotted Ron's red hair. He looked around and grinned as he saw her approaching him.

He stood to greet her and Hermione mumbled a 'hey' as Ron awkwardly left a huge sloppy kiss on her cheek.

"I've ordered you a hokey-pokey muffin and some peppermint tea. I hope you don't mind." Ron said courteously.

Hermione just gave a faint smile in response because judging by the amount of crumbs in the table in front of them, Ron had already made his way through three muffins on his own.

When the silence began to get weird, Hermione spoke. "What's hokey-pokey?" She asked. Trying to make small talk.

Thankfully, Ron jumped at the opportunity. "Um to be honest, I don't really know but it tastes a bit like those honeycomb quills we used to buy at Honeydukes back in our Hogwarts days remember?"

Hermione gave a real smile this time. She had to admit that her school days with Ron and Harry were some of the best days of her life. Ron returned her smile and just as quickly his face dropped.

"Hermione, I'm sorry for the way that I treated you." He said, as sincere as Ron Weasley could ever be. "Really I am. I don't know what came over me."

"Thank you for saying that Ron." Hermione said, meaning every word.

At that moment, they were interrupted as the young waitress brought their food over.

"Oh Merlin! You're- you're Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger!" She exclaimed loudly. "It's an honor to meet you both! Hermione you're one of my biggest idols, wow this is so amazing. This is really cheesy but could I possibly get a photo of you both?"

Ron looked at Hermione expectantly and she rolled her eyes at him. "Fine." She grumbled.

"Great!" The girl squealed. "I'll just go and get my camera."

Hermione and Ron both stood up to take the picture, standing in front of the table they were sitting at.

The girl came back and steadied her camera. Hermione felt Ron's hand snake around her waist. "One, two..." Ron tickled Hermione's side and she squirmed and burst into laughter. "Three!" As the camera flashed, Hermione felt Ron's face up against the side of her own, pecking her cheek and before she had the chance to react, he had pulled away again.

Hermione drew back, shocked, and Ron made no move to stop her.

"Aw wow! Goals! Thanks for the picture guys!" The waitress interrupted for the last time before scurrying away.

"Um, I'm sorry if that was too much, I just, you know... thought, for the picture." He stammered apologetically.

Hermione was angry but the sight of Ron so down and apologetic installed a determination in her to do what she needed to do.
