Arielle's POV:
When Jennifer had told me that story I was shocked. She had broken down in my arms, but I let her stay there because I knew, that she probably hasn't cried like this, and she needed a release, and I was more than willing to be here for her.
I had fell asleep with her in my arms. When I woke up it was around 9 and realized that there was no way in hell that Jennifer and I were going to go to school so I made some coffee.
I was sipping on my coffee when Jennifer woke up and looked at me.
"You stayed over?" She questioned.
"Yea did you think I would leave you here?" I said with a slight pout on my face.
She came over and pecked me on the lips. "No I just thought that you would go to school." She said.
"Well I'm here, also brush your teeth you have morning breath." I said a covered my nose.
"Shut up" She laughed and went over to her bathroom.
She came out 30 minutes later looking better than yesterday. She got some coffee and sat down next to me.
"Arielle do you mind if I ask you a question?" Jennifer asked me.
"Sure what is it?"
"Why does Mason call you 'Ella'?"
"My middle name is Isabella...so you just shortened that and started calling me Ella."
"Isabella..." Jennifer said as if she was testing the sound of the name. "I like it." she said.
I just nodded my head and stayed silent. I didn't want to tell her but I absolutely hated the name Isabella. Ever since I told Mason that was my middle name, he was dead-set on calling me Isabella or Ella. And whenever someone said the name, I got a sick feeling in my stomach.
"A while ago I had a dream." She said out of nowhere.
"What was it about?" I asked.
"It was with me and some other girl. I was around 9 or 8. Before I went to college I used to live in California, I was in New York for the week because it was my Grandpa's funeral, so I was staying with Jaylin. While I was staying here, I met this girl, I think she was about 5, we hung out a lot. She had long curly brown hair and a cute Italian accent. On the last day I was here we were in this park and we carved our initials into a heart." Jennifer said.
"What was the girl's name?" I asked.
"I don't know... I just know that her name started with an A. And I think that girl was you." She blurted out.
"Really? But I don't remember ever meeting you before now." I said, confused.
"You don't remember ever going to a funeral?"She asked
I tried to rack my brain for some sort of of remembrance of a funeral.
"Was it for Grandpa Joe?" I asked her.
She nodded and I thought back to the funeral and then it hit me.
"Were you that girl that was crying by herself?" I asked.
She looked at me shocked, but then a big smile appeared on her face and she said "So it was you!"
"Wow..." I said shocked.
"You wanna go to the park?" she questioned
"You mean right now?" I asked.
"Yea, let's go." She said and grabbed my hand.
—————————————————————————
Soon we got the the park and just looking at it brought back memories of when I was a kid."Looking at this makes me feel old." I said to her.
"Well if you're old I must be accent, let's go look at the tree." Jennifer said.So we walked to the tree and when we got there a whole bunch of memories of a kid, whom I assumed was Jennifer and I here flashed through my mind.
I bent down and looked at what I had carved into the tree. It was a heart the had an A+J in it. I reached my hand out and touched the carving.
"I must say I was one crafty 5 year old." I joked.
"You were, you were a cute one too." Jennifer said.
I got up and faced Jennifer and said "I guess I knew you were the one for me when I was 5 years old."
"You were a little flirt back then just like you are now." She said.
"Some things never change." I said looking directly at her.
"I guess so....do you remember what you promised me?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"You told me that when I got old enough, to move here, and that we would meet again, and when we did that we would be together." She told me.
"Do you think meeting me in that bar, and you being my teacher was...fate?" I asked looking into her eyes.
"Maybe so, maybe we were just meant to be together." She said.
