Chapter 8: Give me that upgrade

OK WOW WOW WOW I LOVED XANADU SO MUCH IM SO SAD ITS OVER.  LIKE J WAS CRYING SO MUCH YESTERDAY BC IT WAS MY LAST PREFORMCE OF MIDDLE SCHOOL. ANYWAYS THE WAIT IS OVER NOW!
It's going to be bad writing bc I legit wrote 50 words per day and I'm writing this late minute

Evans POV
Jeremy drove me to my place. The nurse said I needed rest and I could leave for the rest of the school. Jeremy could as well.

"So... " Jeremy said he sat down next to me on my couch. "How are you feeling?"

I sighed. "Fine now.. Its like I..'But...I can't feel pain.." My stutter was almost gone.. He says my stutter was good to get Brooke and Chloe but then I should stop. Speaking of the Squip...i can't feel him..."I know something is wrong, it's just I can't feel it. I know.. I something happened bad.."

Jeremy nodded and patted my back. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. I never knew a squip could do that."

"Would it ever happened again?"

Jeremy paused.

"Well not on purpose I suppose. But a fault in the program can.  Right now you need rest. I'll check on you tomorrow OK?

Jeremy looked at his phone "SHOOT!  I'm going to be late for my date with Brooke. If you need anything let me know ok?"

I nodded as jeremy jumped up and ran outside

"Evan!" Connor yelled as he tackled me in a hug.

WHO IS THIS. CONNOR DOESNT HUG LIKE THIS

"CONNOR?!" I shrieked. He saw how I looked frazzled and helped me up.  "Sorry about that."

'It's o-"

I was cut off from talking by Jared and Michael jumped on me again this time I fell on the couch.

I sqirmed a little as they hugged me.  They were on my cast.  "Ow ow ow cast.  On cast."

"Oh sorry Ev." Jared laughed a little.

Michael and Jared got off me and helped me up again. This time I sat on the couch sat up rubbing my cast

"Why are you guys here?"

"Dude it said you were electricfide at schoo..A girl named school JENNA Rollen spread it like wildfire." Michael  said worried.

"It wasn't a... That kinda happened.. But not as bad as they said."

"Then what happenen?" jared said sounding annoyed.

"it was a small shock. I uh forgot the power was still on and I grabbed a wire.  And well a small shock." I said as I faked a smile.

They all looked at each other and back at me.  "Evan did you have a squip without knowing?" Michael asked.

no no help help help

Relax. I am here.  Tell them you don't know

I jumped at his voice at first

"I dont know..." I said quietly.

Connor sighed . "We are just glad your ok."

"But if you even think you had one.  Tell us now." Michael said.

~Time skip one hour later~

"if you need anything let us know ok?" Michael said as he put his hands on my shoulders.

I nodded again. "I will.  Thanks guys."

He hugged me one last time and walkee to the door.

Connor didnt say anything and followed Michael

"Hey uh Jared?"

He turned around a little confused. "Yeah?"

"Can you make sure Michael is ok.. With him and Jeremy."

He smiled and nodded. "I will."

He walked out and closed the door behind him.

You need the upgrade now

I spun around and saw my squip smiling evily at me.

You need the upgrade

"An upgrade?" I asked confused. "Why now?"

Yes. Relax.  It won't hurt you.  All you need to do is saying active upgrade. I will shutdown for about an hour and when I reboot you and I will have more.. Functions.

"F-functions?"

"OW!" I yelped

NO STUTTERING EVAN.  He yelled angerly.

"Sorry...."

Now. Do you still want an upgrade? I can help you so much more.  You will be found with this.  You will be loved. But.  You need to make sacrifices.

"Like..?"

I will Optic nerve block Michael, Jared and Connor.

"Wait what?!" I yelled.  "No! I can't!  I-"

I was cut off by a painful shock running though my body. I let out a scream and stumbled back.

Evan. They won't help.  You need to get rid of them ok?

"Ok... "I looked at him and closed my eyes

"active upgrade"

I walked in the school the next day feeling great! My cast was getting taken off today.  Everything feels so alive! Im alive! I talked to people without freaking out!

Christine ran pass me and turn around. "S-EVAN!"
She ran and hugged me. "I'm so glad you're ok.....You're ok right?"

"Evan!"

I turned around to see Jeremy with Jake.  Rich, Chloe and Brooke.

"Sorry Christine I'll talk later."

"O-ok.. "

I waved and walked to them

"Hey guys!" I said as I walked to them.

"hey Evan" Jeremy waved as he looked behind me.  Was he looking at Christine?

"Evan! Yo Jenna ith thpreading the newth from yethterday.." rich said worried.

I started sweating. "That?"

"You were electrocuted Evan. are you ok?" jake asked. All of them seemed a little worried.

Brooke nodded "You are so brave for coming today....hey jeremy. Do you think he will be ok for tomorrow night?"

He shrugged "Evan are you feeling fine?"

I looked confused. "Yeah, What's tomorrow?"

Jake smiled "I'm having a Halloween party!"

Accpet it evan!

"So Evan.  Do you think you are coming? I'll be fine if you don't,

I smiled. "Are you kidding?! Count me in!"
