Symptoms Part 2 ~ Saizo x Reader

"I can't believe this is happening...." (Y/n) sat on the edge of her bathtub, holding a small pregnancy test in her hands.

She could hear her husband pacing back and forth just outside the door, nervously anticipating her results of the test.

Doctor Ren had left hours ago, and the full moon had replaced the sun in the sky. It seemed ages ago that she was sleeping in her warm bed, without the prospect of having a child clouding her every waking thought.

Gripping the small test, the (h/c) woman stood up and walked to the bathroom door. She placed and hand on it and turned the knob, but didn't quite open it. She heard the pacing from her husband stop immediately, and she knew he was waiting for her to come out from the door to give him an answer.

The thought was terrifying.

(Y/n) breathed and walked out of the bathroom. She saw Saizo stop and look right at her. His hair was messy, like he was running his hands through it, and he looked stressed. In two strides he crossed the room and without a word hugged her.

She wrapped her arms around him and they both sank onto their knees. She climbed into his lap and leaned her face into his shoulder. He kept his arms around her back tightly.

For awhile, neither of them spoke. Saizo stroked her back gently. Then (Y/n) finally had the courage to pull away.

Wordlessly, she handed him the test. She watched anxiously as he looked at it. She bit her lip as his cheeks paled.

"So.......you really are pregnant?" Saizo looked from the test to his wife.

(Y/n) nodded. She didn't want to look at him. She couldn't look at him. She trembled in his arms, starting to sob. She felt his arms wrap around her.

She cried for awhile until she couldn't cry anymore. Only then, did Saizo speak.

"I shouldn't say I haven't been expecting this." He began softly. "We've been together for four years. This was bound to happen eventually." When (Y/n) said nothing, he continued. "I don't know how you feel about this. But I don't want you to feel like you have to spare me from telling me anything. If something's worrying or scaring you, you need to tell me. Okay?"

(Y/n) nodded slowly. She was out of tears to cry. She closed her eyes when she felt his hand rub her (h/c) hair.

"(Y/n), can you look at me?" She looked up and hummed softly as she felt his lips on hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck out of habit.

Saizo took his time holding his wife in his arms. He rubbed her back softly for a bit before looking at her. "Is this baby something you want? Do you want to raise the baby with me?"

(Y/n) wiped her reddened eyes and nodded mutely. She couldn't say how frightened she was by this or why she felt strangely happy this had happened, but he seemed to understand.

Saizo took her hands in his. "Then I want to raise the baby with you too. As long as we do this together, there's no reason we should be afraid." He felt her squeez his hands, and returned the gesture. "We'll be parents together. I'll never leave you alone."

"But what if I'm a bad mother?" (Y/n) whispered sadly. She felt her heart twist at the terrible thought.

"You could never be a bad mother. Not ever. You are, if not the most, kindest, most loving being on this planet. No one deserves the things you do for them. Not even me." He admitted. "But you are the best at what you can do. And if you try uour hardest, you can do it. I'll be right here, every step of the way."

As he smiled at his wife, the reality of the situation truly hit him. He was going to be a father.

He was really going to be a father.
