"Haley?" Mom says.
"Yes, mom?" I reply, looking up at her.
"Do you want to go to the beach today?" She asks, a smile forming on her face.
"Sure!" I exclaim, excited to be on the sunny, fun-filled beach today.
We get in the car and head down to the beach, passing various buildings and structures along the way. It was a pretty long drive through the cities, so I read a book to waste some time.
When we get there, I run out of the car in enthusiasm. I love the beach! Miami was always hot, so my mother often takes me down to the beach.
"Do you have your sunscreen on?" Mom questions, looking at me from her chair on the beach.
"Yes, mom. I do." I reply. I pull out my goggles and strap them on. Then, I put my hair up in a perfect ponytail. I run into the ocean; I can't wait to see the creatures!
"Be careful!" Mom yells to me.
"I will!" I reply, diving in.
Underwater, I can see clearly. I see a few fish faintly, swimming at the bottom. I see starfishes laying on rocks. I see shells of every color on the ocean floor.
I come up for another breath of air, then go back down. I can see coral and sea anemones, their brilliant colors standing out.

After hours of swimming and looking at the sea life, I feel like doing something else. I decide to sit in the wet sand and build a sandcastle, but the water keeps knocking it down. My mom sits in her chair, reading a book called "The 30 Flowers in One Garden". When I finally give up on building my castle, I just sit in the wet sand.
"Haley?" My mom asks, looking up at me from her book.
"Yes mom?" I reply.
"Time to go sweetie," Mom says, putting her chair in her arms.
"Okay, mom." I answer, running up the hot sand.
