"Whose turn is it to edit, Sam?" Colby asked in the car, heading back from the haunted military school.
"Uh, I think it's mine," Sam responded as he drove back to their house.
They sat in silence for a minute. Not uncomfortable silence, though. After six years of knowing each other and making videos, the awkwardness faded away. They've done everything together, even reenact gay fanfiction of the two of them. It couldn't get more awkward than that, but somehow it was normal. It was their jobs and they sort of had to do it.
"My heart's still kind of racing, dude," Colby said as he pushed his dark hair out of his eyes.
"I know, me too. Doing this haunted stuff doesn't get any easier."
"It's kinda like watching a car crash, right? You wanna look away, everything tells you to look away, but you just can't."
"Danggg, I like that." Sam said as he nodded his head slowly, "You should say that in our next exploration vid."
There was a pause and Colby blankly started out of the window.
"Do you ever think that the reason we keep exploring is cause these demons that are following us around are, kind of, leading us to the scary stuff?" Colby said cautiously.
"That actually kinda makes sense. So much paranormal stuff happens around us, like all the noises in the house, and we always find weird stuff where we explore."
Colby started laughing softly, that infectious wide-smiled laugh that always made Sam laugh with him.
"Why are you even laughing right now?" Sam said to Colby through giggles.
"Honestly, I have no idea. This shit is just so crazy." He laughed even louder as he starred as Sam. He'd forgotten how great is was to laugh together.
"Let's just get home. I need sleep."
