I'm Sorry

Jugheads POV
When Betty called it broke my heart. I just sat there in shock. My dad came in and saw how distraught I was. "What's wrong kiddo?" He Asked.

"Nothing." I Said wiping away a tear. He looked at me apprehensively but let it go. I decided that I'd call Betty. If not I'd go back to riverdale. Just for the day. It's only an hour away.

The next morning I woke up and immediately called Betty. I laid in bed just waiting for her to pick up the phone I was praying to god she would. After a few rings went by she finally picked up. "Betty!" I gasped.

"What is it Jug? Called to show me how much you don't miss me? How much I'm not worth it?" She asked angrily.

"Please. Hear me out." I begged.

"Fine." She sighed.

"I love you. So so much. But it's JB. She has cancer. I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye. I was afraid hat if I did it face to face I would never be able to leave. I didn't want to explain everything in one letter so I left it vague and hoped you'd call so I could explain. I planned on calling you but I was busy so I couldn't. I'm sorry Betts. I'm sorry." I Said. I could hear her crying over the phone. "Please don't cry baby." I Said. She sniffled.

"I'm sorry too Jug. I got so angry and you're going through so much! I didn't know. I'm sorry babe."

"I'm the one that should be sorry. I love you. I can visit big maybe you can one day."

"Of course! Maybe tomorrow. I can bring v and Arch."

"Ok. I'd love that." I Said. We chatted a bit more before I had to leave. I went downstairs and saw my parents. "Mom, Dad, I have a question." I stated.

"What is it dear?" My Mom Asked.

"Can my friends visit? Please! I left with no explanation. Just a few words saying I'd be gone. And I miss my girlfriend. It's just three people!" I begged. My mom and Dad looked at each other and had a conversation with their eyes.

"Alright. You must miss Betty. We'll allow it. Plus JB loves Betty and she hasn't had many visitors." My Mom said. I gasped.

"Thank you!" I Said happily. I'm going to see my girlfriend again. I was so so excited. I quickly ran to jellybeans room and saw her laying down reading. "JB! I have exciting news!" I squealed.

"What is it?" She Asked.

"Betty's coming to visit."

"Really?!"

"Yes!" I Said happily. JB squealed in delight. "So is Archie and Veronica but BETTY!" I said excitedly.

"Ok ok. Calm down." Jb Said. I chuckled.

"Fine! I'm going to make sure everything is ready for tomorrow. You rest ok?"

"Ok." She said. She laid back down and continued reading. I went into my room and cleaned it up. I dusted my pictures around my room. A picked up a picture of me and Betty on our anniversary. I smiled. I was standing behind her, her back was to my front and I had my arms around her. My head rested on her shoulder and we were laughing. I placed it back down and finished cleaning. I then went to the guest room and cleaned it up.

"Jughead. Its time for dinner," my dad said interrupting my cleaning.

"Ok. I'm coming." I Said. I followed him downstairs and we ate dinner as a family. Afterwards I rushed upstairs and went to bed.

The next morning I woke up energized. I was hyped up and ready to see my beautiful girlfriend once more. It's been two weeks and I miss her so much. I can't wait to hug her small frame, touch her blonde locks, see her beautiful face. I am so excited. I quickly rushed downstairs and got the whole house clean. I called Betty. "Hey Betts. Good morning." I Said cheerily.

"Hey jug!" She said happily.

"Have you guys left?" I asked.

"Yeah we're on our way. Archie's just getting some gas. We should be there in an hour."

"Oh ok. I miss you babe."

"I miss you too Juggie. Oh and v says hi." Betty said. I chuckled.

"Hi to you too Veronica." I told her. Betty talked to Veronica for a second.

"Ok. I have to go Jug. But I'll see you soon. I love you."

"Ok. Bye Betts. I love you too." I Said before hanging up. I sighed. I went to the store and picked up flowers and a teddy bear. I also picked up some snacks up as well. I got home and my parents had left to take JB to her chemo treatments. I sat on the couch. Ten minutes later the doorbell rang. I gasped and jumped up opening the door. I had the flowers and teddy bear in my hands. Betty was standing there right in front of me.

"Juggie." She gasped. Tears rolled off her face as well as mine.

"Betts." I gasped. I enveloped her in a hug. She cried into my chest. "I missed you Juliet," I said.

"I missed you too Juggie. I thought I'd be ready. After our phone calls, I thought I was ready. But just seeing you again. I didn't realize how much I missed you or how crazy I felt without you." She cried.

"I know. Me too. I missed you so much betts." I sighed. I pulled away and handed her my gifts. She smiled. And thanked me. Soon after Archie and Veronica came into the house as well. We all caught up for a bit and I just cherished every moment I had with Betty because I knew she'd have to leave again. I held her close to me.

"I'm gonna get some water." She said trying to get up.

"Oh no no no." I Said pulling her back down onto my lap. She giggled a bit before placing a kiss on my lips. "You have to leave soon I am cherishing these moments." I Said

"Fine." She said laughing. We continued talking before my parents came home with JB
