KLAUS POV
“What the hell are you talking about?” She snapped.
“Well, Love, you would not believe me if I told you,” I smiled at her.
“Who-Who are you?” she had a petrified look on her face.
“I could ask you the same thing,” I gave her my spine-chilling smile and looked deeply into her nice blue-green eyes, “My name is Niklaus. Klaus for short, and that is Kol”
She hesitated before she told us, “Ariel Mercer”
I stepped into the light and held my hand out. Ariel cringed back in disgust, “I’m not going to hurt you, it’s just a hand shake”
“What’s on your face?” She shook.
“Kol, why did you not tell me brother?” I sighed.
“Is – is that blood?” She shuddered.
I had forgotten to wipe my mouth after feeding, “Um, no! It’s fake, Halloween!”
“Oh…I feel stupid,” She shook my hand, “So you go cliché, and dressed up as a vampire?”
“Back to your first question, this is no costume,” I couldn’t take my eyes off of her beautiful light blonde hair.
“Oh, okay, and I’m Cleopatra,” she laughed. But then noticed I was serious, “You’re insane!”
“Wait!” I called after her as she stomped back to her car.
“Goodbye, Niklaus,” she said flatly without turning back. I watched her drive away, leaving me and my brother alone in the moonlight on the empty street.
“You idiot! Now she probably thinks I’m an insane cannibalistic serial killer!” I got all up in my brother’s face, “How is she resisting my compulsion? Even if she was a vampire, I would be able to compel her because I am an original!”
“Does it look like I know everything?” he smart-ass replied. In response I rolled my eyes and started walking back to the manor. I could hear as he followed behind me, “Come on Klaus! I seriously don’t know. Maybe she wasn’t human? Maybe she had a Vervain charm, which she did not know about?”
“No. I could smell it. She’s a one-hundred percent Vervain free human” I turned to him.
“Oh, look at Klaus and his super hybrid senses. I forgot how annoying a werewolf was, never mind mixed with a vampire!”
“Ha ha, very funny,” I turned back around, “I am going to find out. I overheard her saying that she is going to the coffee place tomorrow. I am going to show up and make her an offer she will not be able to resist!”
