The last day of tour, a California date to end it all. I checked myself on last time in the review mirror of Kevin's mothers car. My hair was still red but it was fading, and my brown roots were becoming rather prominent. Kevin's mother told me to be safe and to bring Kevin home safety after the concert. I stepped out of the car proudly. I was now an official high school graduate thanks to her help, and I had a job as well.
Bryan was standing at the door with a halfhearted smile on his face. "They're almost done hurry!" He ushered me from the darkness of the sidewalk to the dim lights of the venue. I quickly snuck into the crowd of people and tried my best to blend in. My plan was to surprise them after the show, at the meet and greet. I started to jump along with the crowd, not getting too close to the stage.
Kevin was more beautiful than ever. He was coated in sweat that matted his hair to his face, but nevertheless he was truly beautiful. His voice was slightly hoarse but never bad. His eyes scanned the crowd and went right over me, however on the scan back he stopped. Directly at me, and his singing stopped. The rest of the band continued to play until Kevin jumped off the stage and over the barrier. The music stopped completely as Kevin plowed through the crowd.
"Maria!" He wrapped me tight in his arms.
"Kevin!" I warped mine tightly around his neck.
A slight murmuring came from the crowd as they turned to face us. Kevin didn't seem to mind, but all the eyes staring at me made my body cringe and shake.
"Nah-uh, don't faint." He whispered gently in my ear.
"I won't." I hugged him tighter, burrying my face in his shoulder.
Without a warning he picked me up, much like a princess, and carried me through the crowd and up onto the stage.
"Maria!" The rest of the boys finally realized what keivn had been doing. They ran up to great me as Kevin grabbed the microphone.
"Sorry everyone, that was just, I haven't seen her form god how long has it been?" There were heavy, excited breaths between his words sentance fragment. "Damn near eight months." He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. A thousand pairs of eyes watched me and I shook again. "Everyone, his is Maria, my girlfriend." The way he said girlfriend made me tense up. I wrapped my fingers tightly around his and I could feel my face flushing a bright red.
Gently Kevin helped me over the barrier and gestured to the band to start the song over. I tried to walk quickly through the crowd, ignoring all the chatter and questioning coming from them. I found my way to Bryan and practically hid behind him.
"You're not really dating Kevin are you?" A tall girl with black hair walked up to us, completely ignoring Bryan. "You look like you're no older than fifteen.
"I'm eighteen." I said under my breath.
"You know that during this tour he probably cheated on you." She said smugly.
"Was that necessary?" Bryan asked.
"Bryan, you were there, he probably was flirting a lot." She walked closer to him and adjusted her shoulders, causing her tank top to expose more cleveage.
"Are you trying to say he's not faithful?" Bryan took a deep breath, calming himself most likely.
"I'm just saying-" she gave me a nasty look. "He can do a lot better than that." She scoffed and walked off back into the crowd.
"Don't listen to her." He smiled down at me.
"I won't." I gently rubbed the scars on my lower arm.
"Good." He gave me a half hearted hug as two more girl walked up to us.
"Can we have a picture and an autograph?" One of them asked Bryan excitedly.
"Of course." He smiled.
The girl asked her friend to take the picture and hen hey switched. Bryan sighed both their tickets and they exchanged gentle whispers. "Are you Kevins girlfriend?" One asked.
"Ya." I nodded.
"Ohmygoshthatmustbelikesoawesome!" Her words jumbled together. "Can we have a picture please?" She squealed.
"Sure?"
They took turned snapping pictures of me and them. "Will you sign by Bryan please?" They handed me their tickets. I took Bryan's sharpie and scribbled Maria Ghost "That is beautiful!"
"Thank you."
"You are super pretty and you and Kevin look so cute!" The other one spoke up at last.
"Thank you." I said again. This attention was making me feel very awkward.
"Where did you two meet?" She asked while a small group of fans directed their attention to me rather than Ghost Town.
"At a concert." I said lightly.
"Their concert" Bryan added with a smirk.
"So you were a fan?" One girl jumped in excitement. "Did you hear that she was a fan"
I nodded.
"That is so cool!"
I nodded again, unsure of what to say.
As the concert came to close I had various people come and greet me, none so rude as the first girl. The majority of them were kind and caring, Kevin kept his arm around me as Bryan watched from a distance.
"Your mom wants us to come over after this." I whispered to Kevin.
"You know my mom?" He asked.
"I've been staying with her since I turned eighteen." I smiled. He smiled back down on to me.
"You wanna go?" He took my hand.
"Kind of." I smiled awkwardly.
"Then it's a deal."
Once the crowd thinned and there were only us and a few of the band members left Kevin jumped up on stage. "Party at my moms!" He laughed like a nerdy high schooler.
