My hair was tied back into a curly bun. It was newly dyed to be a bright red once again. My dress wasn't the typical white, it was silver, as was the vest of Kevin's tuxedo. This was the first and only time I would ever wear a dress.
Evan was going to be giving me away, after all we had told the hospital a while ago that he was my father, it had been a continuous joke. We had no bridesmaids, or groomsmen, the only traditional aspect of our wedding was that it was in a church, which Kevin's mother made us do.
I waited with Evan, as Kevin stood at the alter. My head was spinning like crazy. "You'll be okay." Evan assured me. "I promise."
I nodded and looked down at my stomach. Nothing was noticeable yet, but I was scared to death about the child within it. I would need to go to the doctors soon, with Alix to see if they could do some sort of test before hand to tell me who's child it was.
But for now, I was with Kevin. And yes, I was nervous, but I was happy. I was gettin married to my hero, what more could I ask for? I took a deep breath before Evan and I walked into the crowded church.
'Fans' in general weren't allowed to the wedding, but a few that we were friends with had been invited. Kevin's family, our ghost family, friends, the church was crowded with people.
I walked down the aisle with Evan, until he presented me to Kevin and I stepped up to the alter. My face was flushed red. My stomach churned, I wasn't sure if it was nerves of the twelve month living being within it. Either way I didn't like it.
The preacher went through various vows which Kevin and I both repeated mindlessly. My mind was on my stomach and his was, in the audience? I noticed him glancing to his side repeatedly.
"Kmmhmm." The preacher cleared his throat and we both looked at him. "I said, Maria Chappechi do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
My mouth was dry but I spoke. "I do."
"And do you Kevin McCullough take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do." He smiled.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Kevin placed his hand on the middle of my back and pushed me down, pressing his lips firmly on mine. I could feel the smile in his kiss. When he pulled away the audience roared with applause. I looked into Kevin's eyes, full of fear. I was married to him, I had cheated on him, I was pregnant and I haven't told him yet. My heart raced and my vision blurred.
"Fuck!" I heared him scream as I fell on the stairs of the alter.
"Call an ambulance"
"She faints all the time."
"No this is different! Don't touch her!"
"Alix what's going on?"
"Just call an ambulance okay?"
"Tell me what's going on!"
"She's pregnant!"
"She's- what?" I felt Kevin's hand on my upper arm. "Maria. Maria wake up!" My eyes flickered and I attempted to focus in on him. "Maria?"
"I-"
"Alix says your pregnant." He helped me into a sitting position.
I couldn't speak but I nodded.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I-" I took a deep breath. "I wanted it to be a surprise."
"How far along are you?"
"Twelve weeks."
A smile crept across his face and he hugged me tight, placin his left hand on my stomach. "We're having a baby." He smiled. "Oh god Maria! I'm so happy."
"Me too." I lied and shot a worried look and Alix.
The church filled with applause and I forgot that there was anybody in here to begin with. I forced a smile as Kevin helped me up and carried me out.
