I was awoken beautifully by Kevin. "Get up!" And a pillow to my face.
Okay maybe not the nicest way to do it but it was still beautiful in its own awkward way. I rolled over and groaned, pulling the blankets over my waist just in case my cuts were visible.
"Maria?" Keivn asked as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Ya?" I yawned.
"Do you love me?" He asked.
"What kind of question is that?" Our eyes met and it seemed as though we each hid a thousand words from each other.
"Do you?"
"I like to think so." I pulled my shirt down, covering the scars from his sight.
"Maria." He placed his hand on mine. "I- well, I"
"Hey dude I was just-" Alix opened the door. "Whoa sorry, didn't mean to bug you two." He turned and continued down the hall.
"Never mind." He sighed, slightly upset. "Let's go get breakfast?" He helped me off the bed and to my feet.
I was still wearing my pajamas, but so was he, so I wasn't as embarrassed. I held his hand as we trekked downstairs where his mother had freshly baked muffins sitting on the counter.
"Yum." He grabbed one. He barely had the wrapper off as he shoved it in his mouth. He looked down at me with a huge smile and spoke. "Imhungry"
"Chew your food." I laughed.
"You tell him." His mother laughed and kissed us both on the forehead. "Have a good day." She grabbed herself a muffin before heading out.
As soon as she left I turned to face Kevin, who's attention was now on the television. "So what was it you wanted to ask?"
"It's nothing." He took a bite of another muffin.
"There's nobody here you can ask?"
"I just, I want us to be truthful, and have no secrets."
I nodded. Shit, if he had found out about Bryan and Alix I would be in such trouble.
"During tour, I-" he looked down at the table. "I may have gotten a little too friendly with a fan." He looked up at me and spoke fast. "It wasn't sex or anything close, just kinda," he looked back to the floor. "I'm sorry"
I placed my hand on his, as he looked up I leaned in and kissed him gently. He placed his freehand on my face and I placed mine on his.
"I love you Maria."
Why was he getting so persistent with the 'I love you's'? "Kevin I have something to tell you too." I paused and thought for a moment. This was not a one-time on the road fling, no this was with Kevin's best friend, I could ruin a friendship, ruin a band, ruin their life! Kevin looked at me with a questionable brow. "I-" I paused. "I cut myself last night."
"Maria." He stood up, motioning me to do the same. "Let me see."
"I'd rather not." I pulled at the bottom on my top. "Please."
"Maria, you don't need to do that anything that's bothering you, you can tell me, I will listen and I will help!" He hugged me tight. "Please tell me what's bothering you?"
"Stress." It was somewhat true.
"I know just how to relieve that." He chuckled and picked me up. He carried me back to his bedroom and set me down gently on the bed.
