Everyone is cleared out of the parking lot. The kids who don't stay are already gone for the day, and everyone else is in the gym. It's just me standing off to the side of the waiting area and waiting for my mom. Hopefully she gets here soon.

Because my eyes automatically keep looking at the oldest automobile in the lot. Jimin hasn't left school yet, and I don't want to see him. I feel like if I did, I'd break. I'd run up to him and take back everything. I know myself well enough. And I don't want to do that.

I physically turn my body to the side so I don't have to look out at the parking lot anymore. At least if he comes out, I won't see him.

"Hey."

I spin my head around at the voice of my newest friend. "Jungkook?" I blink a little in confusion, "Aren't you supposed to be at the pep rally?"

"I snuck out," he grinned as he walked around me and leaned back against the building. "Those things get so boring. Every Friday is the same thing over and over."

"Yeah," I agreed, "I've only been to one this year."

"Lucky."

I giggled a little; my smile wide. But it slowly faded and I fidgeted in place. Everything seems so backwards. Why am I talking to Jeon Jungkook and not Park Jimin?

"Is everything ok?"

"Not really," I said honestly. "I finally talked to Jimin."

"Oh." He slipped his hands into his letterman jacket, "Is um... Are you going to be ok?"

"I think so." Although, despite me saying that, a tear escaped that I quickly wiped it away.

He finally noticed my flushed face and my swollen eyes. He stared ahead and again was lost at what he should do or say. But this time he opted to scoot a little closer to me and try and cheer me up.

"Are you coming to the game tonight?"

"No."

"Like, is that a hard no?" He chuckled a bit, "Or can I persuade you to come?"

I chortled, wiping my face some more, at least I had a little bit of a smile, "Not a chance. It's not really my scene."

"Let me guess, you prefer listening to music in your room."

"Bingo," I smiled.

He turned his body towards me, still leaning against the building, "Then is that all you're gonna do?"

"Probably..." I looked up at him and realized he was close. My eyes fluttered a bit as I looked down, "Why?"

"Let's chill after the game then."

"But-"

"We're friends now right?" He grinned, "Friends hang out and chill. We can go get some food or something."

I looked up again and tried to see if he was joking, but it didn't look like it. "Jungkook... why are you still doing this?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I know our parents are dating, but being friends and wanting to hang out... I don't know... I guess I just don't know how to act with you yet. Because you are you and I'm not like that."

"What are you trying to say," he asked calmly.

"It's the reason why I never talk to you in the hallways. Or the same reason why you dodged your friends about walking into school with me. Being with you is full of drama and a lot of bullshit."

"Y/N. I get what you're saying. That's kinda my rep at school, but when it's just you and me, you know I'm not like that." He reached out and lightly poked my cheek, "I like talking to you."

"I um..."

He let his hand linger by my face, getting close to cupping my cheek. His eyes quickly glanced up then back down to my eyes. I felt my heart beating fast in my chest. But the sound of a horn had us both jumping. I looked back and saw my Mom pulling up. I groaned at the impeccable timing.

Jungkook laughed, "Looks like your ride is here."

"Yeah..."

My Mom pushed the button to make the passenger side window go down, "Hi Jungkook! It's good to see you!"

"Hello," he said politely.

I just blushed in embarrassment, and ducked my head a little. Which made Jungkook laugh.

"Oh~ It's so good to see you two getting along!"

"Mom, can I have a minute please?"

She frowned at not being included but nodded her head as she let the window slide up again. I just giggled a little in embarrassment before looking up at Jungkook again.

"So I guess I'm ok hanging out with you if it's outside school...if you want. I just don't want drama or anything." I looked down and chewed on my bottom lip a bit, "I mean... the only real friend I had... well... yeah..."

"I'll do my best to make this friendship as drama free as I can."

"Pffft. Ok Jungkook. Thanks," I smiled.

"Then tell your Mom I'll drop by tonight. Gotta stay on her good side," he winked.

I pushed him lightly, "You're dumb." I smiled as I opened the car door, "Good luck at the game Mr. Quarterback."

"Thanks," he grinned. "I'll text you later."

"Sure. Bye," I said with hope in my voice.

He waved a little to my Mom, but locked his eyes with mine as she started driving away. It felt nice to talk to him. To laugh a little with him. I think with him as a friend I can figure stuff out. So far he hasn't done anything to make me think he's a bad guy or anything. I think it's just from an outsiders point of view, that I thought he was a jerk. But now that I've gotten to know him a lot better, I realize he's nowhere near a jerk.

I smile to myself as I look outside the window.

But the smile disappears when I realize the old white truck is gone from it's spot. My heart sinks at the thought of Jimin and everything that happened today. My heart aches and panics a little as well for the fact that Jimin might have seen me and Jungkook talking. He openly admitted he was jealous. So after what we talked about, would he still be jealous?

My Mom started talking about her day and the plans for the weekend, but I just closed my eyes and let myself drift off. After everything that's happened, I didn't want to think much anymore.

I'll take it day by day. And look forward to building my friendship with Jungkook.
