With a quick text to my Mom to catch her up on what was happening, she wished me luck and to stay safe. Not like she needed to worry. But what was really troubling was what I was going to say to Jungkook.

Jimin insisted we stayed until Jungkook was leaving so I could talk to him. Because despite my nerves, he needed to know my answer to his confession, no matter how difficult it'd be on me. This is the best thing I can do for him. So as we wait, he hold hands in his truck, sitting side by side and watch the entryway for Jungkook.

I have my head leaned on his shoulder and his head is on mine. "Do you think Jungkook will hate me?"

"I don't know him like you do Y/N."

I frowned, "I don't think he'd hate me, but I know he'd need time. I just hope we can still be friends. But... I know if he doesn't want to I can't do anything about it."

"You think you can be friends with him after he confessed to you?"

I pulled my head away so I could look at him, raising an eyebrow, "If I chose him instead of you, would you still want to be my friend?"

He pouted like a child, looking away and frowning, "It's different. I've known you since you were in diapers. He's only known you like, what, a few days?"

I rolled my eyes and lightly punched his arm, "I never knew you were the jealous immature type."

"It's your fault, let's be honest."

I gasped, "What? Me?!"

He started laughing as he pulled me in closer to nuzzle my face, "You drive me up the wall you punk. So yeah, it's your fault."

"Ok old man, you need to wise up a bit more. This is on you. Not me."

He was about to start tickling me, but his eyes caught sight of a lone person exiting the stadium. "Oh. I think that's him."

He drove around and parked a few spots behind Jungkook's mustang, just so that we could see him when he arrived. And sure enough, as he got closer, we could see the star quarterback getting to his car.

I looked down and swallowed the giant lump in my throat. "Ok..."

"Listen, I know this isn't going to be easy. But remember... you have me. You have all of me now. Ok?"

I wanted to melt as he leaned in to kiss my lips tenderly. But I had an important discussion to be had. So with his kiss and a reassuring smile, I got out of his truck and ran to Jungkook.

"Good game out there tiger. Congratulations," I ran up with my hands in the back pockets of my jeans. "MVP?"

"Of course. Was there any doubt?"

"Not at all," I smiled nervously.

He looked past me, noticing Jimin sitting in his truck and watching us carefully. "Your bodyguard back there looks pretty tense." He stepped past me to open the trunk of his car and throw in his duffle bag. "Is he here to make sure I don't harass you?"

I looked back with a laugh, smiling to him before looking back at Jungkook, "No, he's just here for support."

"Support?" Jungkook closed his trunk and leaned back against it, "Let me guess..."

I pulled my hands out from the back pockets and held onto my left arm as I rolled on my feet. I couldn't stay still as the words lingered at the back of my throat. "I um... Jungkook..."

"Yes," he asked softly.

I looked up at him and felt like my heart was in my throat. "I love him."

He looked back and forth between my eyes, then to Jimin in his car behind me. His eyes dragged their way back to me, before looking down at the ground. He smiled, but his eyes were sad. "I see."

"B-But, I want you to know... that when you confessed to me... it made me really happy." I looked down as well, unable to lift my head from the guilt. "I know it's selfish to say, but I still want to be friends. You're more than just the jock that everyone sees a-and I feel lucky enough to know you. So... if we can... be friends... I'd like that." I raised my head and took a step forward, "Of course if you want to that is! I'm not trying to suggest-"

He chuckled, making me stop in my tracks. "It's ok Y/N. I get it. I get what you're saying. But... I need some time."

"I know," I took a step back to be in my original spot.

"But... I'd like that too... eventually." He looked up and smiled a little, "Besides, you might end up being my only friend senior year."

"I think people will surprise you, if you let them."

"Yeah. Maybe."

I stood there quietly, unsure of how to properly leave without making it so painfully awkward, but I can't quite think of a way. I just rock on my feet and chew on my bottom lip.

"Is it ok if I text you later?"

I smiled wide, "Of course. I'd like that."

"And your boyfriend won't come beat me up right?"

I blushed a bright red at the word boyfriend. But the thought made me smile wide, "Don't worry, he doesn't bite. Mm, not hard at least."

He let out a small laugh from the back of his throat, "Yeah, ok."

"Congratulations again Mr. Quarterback. I can't wait till you make your debut as a boring teenager now."

"Ha! You'd like that."

I grinned, "Maybe a little."

He pushed my shoulder lightly as he laughed, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now go. So that I can cry my manly tears in peace."

I frowned, "Jungkook..."

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," he turned me around and pushed me lightly towards Jimin's truck. "I'll talk to you later ok?"

I walked towards the truck, but turned around to walk backwards, "Remember that your Dad doesn't live your life. You do!"

"Thanks! I'll remember that," he shouted back as he opened the door to his mustang.

"Good luck Jungkook! See you when I see you!" I waved a little as I opened the passenger door.

"Later Y/N!" Jungkook turned his gaze to Jimin and offered a small smile to him before getting in his mustang.

I got in Jimin's truck and slid across the seat to sit next to him as Jungkook started up his car and drove off. He put his arm around me and stared at my profile. "Everything going to be ok?"

I smiled as I took in a slow deep breath. "Yeah. Yeah. Everything is going to be ok."

"What did he say?"

I turned my head so I could look at my boyfriend directly, "He called you my boyfriend."

Jimin blushed, but tightened his arm around my shoulder a little bit more. "Yeah well, I am."

"And I told him you wouldn't bite if he texted me later."

"I-"

But before he could say anything more, I smiled as I pressed my lips against his, sitting myself in his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and let my lips and tongue do all the talking. And he seemed happy enough to let me do as I pleased.

As we pulled away, he grinned happily, resting his forehead on my shoulder, "My girlfriend is such trouble."

"But you already knew this," I giggled.

He lifted his head and tried to bite back his stunning, absolutely-in-love smile. "Yeah. Yeah I did." He huffed out a chuckle, "I love you."

"I love you too."
