Frostbite - SEVEN

Beth went to Liz's house to get ready for the party, Beth wore a sweater the went off one of her shoulders and ripped skinny jeans. Beth invited Mj who just sat quietly in the corner reading a book. Liz jumped on her bed looking at her, "so what's going on with you and Peter?" 

Beth's cheeks heated up, "nothing, he's just a friend." Mj laughed a little, "oh come on, even I can see the looks you give him." Liz raised her eyebrows at her, "come on, Liz. Let's just drop it, okay?" Liz sighed while laughing, "okay."

She saw Ned and Peter walk in, "hey guys." Then they heard sirens go off, "Penis Parker, what's up?" Beth groaned, "so where are your friends? In Canada, with your imaginary girlfriend?" The horn went off again, "that's not Spiderman, that's just Ned in a red shirt." Beth's hand flicked out causing Flash's red solo cup to spill on his pants, she turned to Peter. "Oops."

Peter went off to change into his suit while Beth and Ned stayed at the party, eventually Peter didn't show up worrying her. 

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, "Tony?" She stepped outside to get some privacy, "hey, Beth. Seems like your Spider-baby got himself into some trouble. My suits on its way to pick you up." Beth nodded, "got it." 

She ran her way back inside and grabbed her mask, going outside she saw Tony's suit flying in. She put on her mask and ran towards the suit, as soon as it was close enough she jumped letting the suit catch her. 

"He's in the water," Tony flew his suit over the lake. She let go of the suit, diving into the water. She found Peter stuck inside a parachute struggling to breathe. She swam down pulling the parachute off of him, his mask was in his hands as he looked around frantically. 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe.' He mouthed to her. It was still a long way to the top, then Beth did something stupid she leaned down and kissed him using her powers to put air into his lungs until they got to the top. 

He looked at her shocked, she held her hand up and Tony's suit dove down and grabbed her arm pulling them both out of the water. 

Tony dropped them off on a playground, she dried them both off ignoring Peter's looks at her. "It was crazy, he picked me up and then took me up a thousand feet and dropped me. How'd you find me, did you put a tracker in my suit?" His suit nodded, "I put everything in your suit including this heater." 

"What were you thinking?" Tony asked, "the guy with the wings is obviously the source of the weapon. I gotta take him down." Beth sat there in silence as they both argued, her head snapped up as Tony's suit took off. "That's awesome," Peter mumbled to himself. 

Beth jumped down to the ground, "I'll see you tomorrow." Peter reached out to her, "Beth, wait." But she was already gone.

The next day at school was awkward, Peter would send her some looks but they never spoke to each other. The whole day she spent with Liz, to make it up to her for ditching her at the party. "Liz, what do I do if I kissed Peter but then ran away right after?" Liz turned to her wide-eyed.

"What?!" 

Beth placed a hand over her mouth, "help." Liz nodded, "I mean you like him, don't you?" Beth sighed, "Liz if I told him I liked him and he doesn't like me back it'll be so awkward." She let out a huff, "I literally sleep over at his house every night." 

They heard footsteps behind them, it was Peter. "Beth, we need to go." She furrowed her eyebrows before following him, "so the guys who tried to kill me came to the school and we're tracking them to see where they go." She nodded following back to his apartment.

"This is so awesome," Ned muttered. "I know right," Peter said flopping down on the bed she was lying on. 

"They're in Brooklyn," as time went on Beth fell asleep on the bed. An hour later the room started to get colder, "Peter why is it so cold in your room?" Peter snapped up from what he was doing to his wristband and ran over to Beth who was on the bed.

"Beth, wake up." He shivered as the room got colder. He placed his hands on her shoulders and the room started getting warmer, "wake up." He whispered, her eyes fluttered open to Peter above her. "You're okay," she took in a shaky breath nodding at him.

"Staton Island."

"Leaving Jersey."

"They stopped," Peter's head flew down from the ceiling. "Maryland," Ned looked at Peter. "What's there?" Beth spoke up, "probably an evil lair." Before eating another chip, "they have a lair?" Peter nodded, "the guys with alien guns, yeah they have a lair." 

"Badass."

Beth sat up, "so how do we get there that's almost 300 miles away." All their heads turned to the Academic Decathlon poster, "it's not too far from D.C."

Peter and Beth both ran over to the team, "hey guy's I was wondering if I can rejoin the team." Flash walked up to them causing Peter to stand in front of her, "you just can't just quit and stroll back up expecting to be welcomed back to the team." The teacher walked out of the bus, "hey, welcome back Peter. Flash, your back to the first alternate."

The only reason she was allowed on the trip was because of Tony, they knew he was her designated guardian but she made the staff not tell any of the students. She didn't want to be treated differently.

"Everyone stick together," Liz called to them. Mr. Harrington signed them in while Beth looked at the place, amazed. Peter turned towards Ned, "you brought your laptop, right?" 

They got to their room, shutting the door and locking it. Beth took out her mask and pulled the tracker off. Placing it under the bed, "there's a bunch of different things on this thing but it's all disabled by the training wheels protocol." Peter sat up, "what?"

He looked at his computer screen, "turn it off." Ned shook his head, "I don't know man, they were probably blocked for a reason." 

Peter let out a huff jumping on the bed, "come on, Ned. I don't need training wheels, I'm sick of him treating me like a kid all the time." Beth looked up at him, "we are kids." 

Peter looked at her, "yeah kids that can stop a bus with their bare hands or turn an airport into the artic." Beth sighed, shaking her head. 

Ned ended up taking off the training wheels program. Beth put her mask into her bag before following Peter out of the room. 

They both stood on the roof, Beth put on her mask. Peter watched in awe as her outfit and hair changed, she was so beautiful. Peter then put on his mask, "good evening, Peter." Beth looked at him confused, "hello, hello?"

Beth watched as he talked to himself, "I put a tracker on someone, he's a bad guy." Beth just followed Peter, they hopped from car to car. Without warning Peter jumped off the car they were on, "hey, wait for me!"
