And that was that. I saw the girls a lot, worked and even saw the rest of the boys a few times but no Michael. I had even started replying to some of their fans and following them. They were continuously asking me questions about Michael and the rest of the boys.
Unfortunately, my 'avoiding Michael' was always going to come to an end and this was the day where I had to wake up and face the fact that I had to spend time with, and be nice to, him for a weekend.
I was pissed but I wasn't going to ruin his birthday present for him. I had some limits after messing with him so much.
@sighnatalie: spending a weekend with someone you're pissed at probably sucks
@luke5sos: it's his birthday present stop tweeting and get ready !!
I had a rucksack packed already. I had long sleeved tops, jumpers, jeans, underwear, a pair of jogging bottoms packed amongst all the camping gear I needed. There was all the dinner things that I would use to cook whatever we found I guess and my sleeping bag and met were attached to the outside. I had made sure I worse my sturdiest pair of boots as I guessed there would be a lot of walking.
I was going to be last to be picked up due to the fact that I lived nearest the motorway that lead north to the Desolate Lakes. As I waited, I replied to a couple of dms. One of them was asking if I had argued with Michael and sent me a picture of one of his tweets. I told her they were song lyrics but she was insistent and I ended up telling her that we weren't friends anymore.
It was probably a mistake as she was probably going to tell someone but I had had enough of people asking why there weren't any more pictures of us after Luke tweeted one I had a go at him about.
It was a picture of us in bed again but this time we were both asleep. His head was buried into my hair and I was held close against him. Honestly, I was annoyed at Luke trying to get us to talk as if everything was okay. I was also annoyed that my heart hurt whenever I saw something that reminded me of Michael.
The first time I saw Michael in two weeks, he was sitting behind the wheel of the van nodding along to whatever music they were playing. I opened the door to get into the back of the van, Sum 41's 'Still Waiting' playing loudly, but Luke was sitting right in front of the door.
"There's space there." He pointed to the passenger seat in the front of the van.
"You expect me to believe no one called shot gun?" I looked past Luke at the rest of the group in the back of the van. They all smiled and nodded at me, Ashton making shooing actions with his hands.
"I love you guys so fucking much! Best friends ever!" I made sure that sarcasm was dripping from my voice as I slammed the back door shut.
Honestly, being in such a confined space with Michael was the worst thing you could imagine. The whole three hours north I didn't say a word to him, but that didn't stop him from being a total dick.
He took out the CD someone had made and handed it to someone in the back. Instead of good music, he turned on Capital radio. Don't get me wrong, not everything on Capital was bad but some things were just so terrible that they shouldn't be allowed.
For example, as soon as Union J's new song came on and I grimaced, Michael smirked and turned it up as loud as it could go. I would blame Rosie for starting the sing along to one of the shittest songs known to man but Michael's purposeful turning up of the song was where my anger focused.
He didn't even stop there, he made sure to play any song I cringed at loud enough that I couldn't hear myself think. I tried reaching out for the radio but each time he slapped my hand away.
The most aggravating of any song he played was when Calum was filling the tank with petrol. Blurred Lines had come on and Michael insisted on staring at me as he sang.
"What do they make dreams for, when you got those jeans on. What do we need steam for, you're the hottest bitch in this place!" Nicole smacked him on the head, I knew how much she didn't like this song either but it didn't stop his eyes roam down my body in a disgusting way as he continued.
"I feel so lucky, you want to hug me." He winked at me and I groaned out in frustration. To my happiness, Ashton told him off and made him change the song mentioning how it was sexist and horrible.
By the time we got to the lakes, they were cheering in excitement. I was still pissed at being so close to Michael. After paying the company extra, they did everything they could to hide the fact that there would be zombies. All they had really told us about them is to not hit them physically and that there wouldn't be any around on the last night after 9pm.
Our guide was called Nathan and he went through any basic rules for us.
"Our game plan is to go into the big estate house over there," I didn't realise we were starting instantly but I turned to where he was pointing. "and find any urgent supplies. I wasn't told where anything will be but it's my best bet."
I was excited to see Michael's reaction when we came into contact with our first zombie and being able to show off my amazing shooting skills. Well, I didn't yet know if they were amazing but I could hope.
"Oh, and we're going to split into groups sometimes throughout these two days. It means we get more done when we need supplies or food. It's good to have back up. I was told that the birthday boy," Michael raised his hand; realising Nathan had no idea whose birthday it was even though we had introduced ourselves. "Is to be paired with Natalie?"
I snorted at the joke that the boys were obviously playing. I was not spending longer in close proximity with Michael. "There's been a mistake."
"No mistake. Deal with it. You two girls I'm going to make sure you're with a boy."
"That's sexist!" Nicole huffed and crossed her arms.
"You're not even holding your gun correctly, I think you should listen." I felt tempted to laugh but was too busy thinking about how I'd have to spend time alone with Michael. He met my eyes and smirked at me, making the whole situation more annoying.
I didn't listen to the rest of the splits in the group; I was too busy kicking the dirt by my feet, seething. That was probably why I didn't notice when we started heading out to the house in the distance. I only realised I was lacking behind when someone's arm was flung over my shoulders making me look up and tense.
"So, partner," He started walking and pulling me along with him.
"Shut up, Clifford. We are not partners."
"Have you gone deaf?" I narrowed my eyes at his question before I concentrated on the group who were slightly ahead of us.
"You're stuck with me, babe." His mouth was close to my ear, his breath making the hairs on the side of my neck stand on end. I felt myself wanting to relax into his side but refused to allow my body to give in. Instead, I pushed him away with as much force as I could muster. He obviously didn't expect it because the next thing either of us knew, he was on the floor.
His face was a painting and I wished so bad that we were allowed phones on this trip for things other than emergencies.
"Fuck you babe!" He didn't make an attempt to get up as he sat staring at me.
"Call me babe again and I will stomp on your fucking dick." This made him laugh, only annoying me further.
"Oh get on your knees and suck it."
"I was told not to put small things in my mouth?" His smirked fell from his face as he stood up.
"You know my dick isn't small!" His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at me, as if he was asking for conformation.
"Honey, I've worn heels bigger than your dick." I walked away then, knowing we needed to catch up or else. After picking up his 'gun' he came running after me, questioning me about what I meant or the biggest size heels I've worn.
I didn't even spare him a glance, laughing as we walked into the big house. Two could play at whatever game he was planning.
