Cloud Strife's POV
Every day I notice I'm starting to forget my homeland, probably because of months of staying here. I noticed the changes happening in all the other fighters too, often straying from their thoughts. The person I noticed most was Link, considering he can only remember from the trophies we have around here.
We just got back from drills, and there was a note lying on our bed. Link took the note off the pillow and passed it to me, where I noticed it was from none other than Mario himself. The note read:
"Dear Link and Cloud Strife,
I and the other fighters are planning to expand the mansion a fifth time, but since development was so, the work is becoming stressful. So, when the Master Hand told me that we'll all be heading to Tropicanus Island while he gets all our work done. The place is big, and there's plenty of room for entertainment - the perfect vacation destination for Smashers alike! So, we'll all be heading over in this one-shot trip on plane. Best get all packed up so that you don't miss the private jet and be stuck here for months, working yourself tired...
We've all ever been here before, so don't get your hopes up just yet, so get ready for the trip!
- Mario
P.S.,
There are also going to be a lot of candidates to join the Smash Mansion during this vacation, so best be prepared. We'll be seeing which ones will go or stay.
"Did you hear that, Cloud?" Link asked while hugging my chest. "We'll be staying at everyone's favorite vacation destination for a few months while the Master Hand does all our work.
"I sure am excited, Link," I said, my face filled with stern. "It's just... I've never really been on a long trip with all sorts of new faces before..."
"There's a first chance for everything," Link said before kissing my lips. "Now, come on. We gotta pack our stuff and get ready for the trip." The Hylian pulled out two suitcases: his bag was green with golden marks on the corners, mine was black with purple stripes and hazelnut-brown markings. Then, we grabbed our stuff and began packing.
Link's POV
Weeks passed, and someone knocked on our room door. I walked up to see who it was, and Ike was just there, telling us we're leaving. It was pretty early in the morning, like 6:30 A.M. tops, and I shook Cloud out of his sleep. We grabbed our bags and went outside with the other fighters, waiting for the bus. Just then, a large, black bus pulled up, opening it's sliding doors. When everyone saw the next destination was the airport where our private jet was waiting on the flashing sign, they got on. I pulled Cloud Strife in, still looking rather sleepy, but the place was already cramped to the brim when we got in. Once the last passengers got in, the doors shut. Since I already felt Cloud pinning me to the wall, his face pressing against mine as if we were going to kiss, his body grinding tight with me, I probably assumed space was tight in here, so I had to stay like this, looking deep into Cloud's eyes uncomfortably until we stopped.
Once we arrived at the airport, our private jet was already waiting for us, so we put our stuff in the storage compactor with the other luggage. I was sitting next to Cloud on the window seat to his left, nuzzling deep into his shoulder and falling asleep when the plane stared taking off.
It took hours to fly to our destination, but we finally made it - a place where you can leave all your worries behind. And the best thing is that we get to spend all our time here for months. Just me with my Cloud...
