Link's POV
A few more months had passed, and I looked like a melon ready to burst. My belly was getting bigger, and we were just ready to head back to the new and improved Smash Mansion. The Master Hand told us all of the characters had been chosen, and it was time to go home. Our vacation was over.
All us fighters flew back on our private jet. During the whole trip, I slept on Cloud's shoulder, tired after nine months of pregnancy. The moment we took the bus back to the mansion, I was dozing off in Cloud's arms, the 1st-class SOLDIER cradling me in his arms. My hands were clasped around my big belly, feeling Bee kick inside. It was also nighttime when we all got back.
Cloud Strife's POV
As I was carrying a pregnant Link into our room, I saw many of the apartments had been improved a bit for the new challengers and returning veterans. Once Link and I slipped into bed, armor and all after hours of exhaustion, I turned around to see the Champion of Hyrule sleep on my side, hugging deep into my chest. I kissed his dirty-blond hair lovingly, stroking his soft locks with one hand and feeling his hard stomach with the other. Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
The first few hours of the night felt like bliss, until the big moment...
Link's POV
I was spooned by Cloud in our sleep, his strong hands touching my belly. I didn't want this moment to end. Just then, I felt a strong kick coming from Bee, who was inside my womb. At first, I thought it was perfectly normal... until the kick came out stronger. It was rather painful, and my muscles tensed up. Quickly waking up, I held onto my stomach, breathing hard as the pain got worse. Eventually, some sort of liquid spilled out of my entrance, soaking the bed. My water broke.
"Cloud... Cloud! Wake up!" I whispered. I shook Cloud Strife from his sleep, and the 1st-class SOLDIER slowly got up, turning his head and rubbing his eyes.
"What is it, baby...?" Cloud asked. He then noticed me clenching my stomach in pain. With one look, Cloud knew it was time. Our son is about to be born.
"Let's go," Cloud whispered, lifting me up as I kept holding on, moaning in severe agony. Cloud quickly opened the door with one hand, rushing me to Dr. Mario's apartment.
"Deep breaths," Cloud told me, lifting up my head. I began sweating hard and breathing in sharply, knowing that I wasn't ready yet.
Cloud Strife's POV
I finished carrying Link to Dr. Mario's apartment, placing the Champion of Hyrule on his feet. I quickly held up his arms, steadying his balance as I knocked on the door as hard as I could. Dr. Mario, slowly unlocked and opened the door.
"Mamma mia," Dr. Mario sighed. "It's the middle of the night..."
"Link's giving birth!" I explained, trying to keep Link steady as he began squealing in pain.
"Why didn't you say anything before?" Dr. Mario asked, surprised. "Bring him in, quick!" I helped Link get into Dr. Mario's apartment, but the doctor placed a hand on my chest.
"Link needs-a to be alone," Dr. Mario said. "He's in a lot of pain, and it would be even more stressful if you're in there with him..." I nodded, hearing the cries of my love going into labor as he kept clenching his stomach.
"I need him!" Link cried, Dr. Mario helping him up onto the bed. "I'm scared!" Dr. Mario then shut the apartment door, leaving me outside.
"Be brave, Link!" I told him through the door. "You can do this!" Link began crying in pain, waking up most of the Smashers in the mansion, including newcomers such as Ken, Incineroar, Piranha Plant, and Joker.
