Cloud Strife's POV
I just came home from winning a big load of cash with the third-party reps at the gambling party during the sunset, carrying a bouquet of flowers that I bought for Link and sharing the rest of the money with my gang.
"Linky?" I called. "I'm home! Got you some flowers!" I realized the place was quiet, almost like no one was home. I then walked upstairs to our bedroom and opened the door out of curiosity. To my surprise, Link in his Champion's Tunic was sitting on the bed, with Zero Suit Samus comforting him, like something was wrong...
Zero Suit Samus was sitting next to Link, with the Champion of Hyrule holding some sort of paper in his hands. He looked terrified, like he just might be witnessing some sort of huge event.
"Link?" I asked, curious and scared. "Is something the matter?" Zero Suit Samus then looked at me.
"The both of us... are talking about... future goals for raising our own families," Zero Suit Samus replied.
"Zero Suit?" I asked. "You're having a baby?" Link then looked at me, trembling.
"It's not Zero Suit that's expecting to be a mother," Link replied. I slowly walked towards him, confused by all this.
"...Link?" I said in wonder. "What are you talking about...?" The Hylian then handed me the paper he held in his hands. unfolding it, I saw it was a note from Dr. Mario, looking like there was some sort of check-in at his office. I saw when the semi-clone did some analysis on Link's fever, there were some strange readings. At the end of the paper, I suddenly discovered the final results, and they were shocking.
"...Link?" I stammered. "You mean to tell me that you're..." As a response, Link shyly nodded. The fact that the answers said everything scared me. I was terrified by this life-changing experience. I then dropped the bouquet that I was holding for him.
"Cloud?" Zero Suit Samus asked. "You all right?"
"...Yeah, I'm fine," I sighed, my voice breaking and tears beginning to build up in my eyes. "I have to go. Excuse me..." I then quickly opened the door and bolted out of the house, gliding into the bell tower to the very top. When the coast was clear, I sat down and cried into my knees as the sunset went over the clear blue sea and the crickets started chirping in. I was scared of the truth... one that would change me for the rest of my life...
"Cloud?" a familiar voice spoke. I turned around to see that Sonic was there, chilling next to the giant brass bell.
"What do you want?" I wept, trying to hold my tears in. Sonic the Hedgehog then walked closer to me, curious about what was on my mind.
"Is anything the matter?" the blue hedgehog said. I inhaled deeply, trying to explain what's going on.
"I thought it wasn't possible," I answered.
"What wasn't?" Sonic asked.
"The fact that boys can have babies in very rare occasions," I answered, still trying to hold in my cries. "This is something even you're too young to understand anyway. The fact is... I got Link pregnant..." I began crying again, Sonic wondering about all this.
"Why you crying, then?" the blue hedgehog asked again. "Isn't it supposed to be exciting?"
"It's not exciting when you pay attention to logic," I answered, sniffling. "Men can't even have babies alone, and only women can get pregnant. Even then, I'm scared, Sonic... scared that I might not even be a good father..." Sonic then placed a hand on my shoulder. I wiped away my tears to see the teenage hedgehog looking at me.
"If there's anything I know about fathers, it's the fact that they can still help their children see the ways of life," Sonic replied. "Bowser had to raise a single son all that kid's life while still trying to go on the verge of kidnapping a mother for Bowser Jr., and Lucina probably doesn't even know what alternate reality mother she was born to while still being Chrom's daughter. This is the first time in history we actually have found records of two Smash fighters raising a child together. I know you and Link are gonna be great parents, no matter what the consequences..." I then stopped crying, thinking about what Sonic said.
"I understand," I said, my voice getting back to normal. "This might be the most difficult part of my life... I mean... what if Tifa finds out I already moved on without her?"
"She'll find out one day," Sonic replied as I ran towards the bell tower exit stairs. "Even then, she'll learn to forgive, forget, and move on too." I looked back at the blue hedgehog, thinking about the special advice given to me.
That night, I made it to the house where Link and I stayed, walking in as Link sat in his bed, worried about what my response would be when told my submissive husband was pregnant. I quietly sneaked in, rubbing the back of my neck.
"...Link?" I asked, placing a hand on the Hylian's shoulder. Link turned his head towards me, his eyes starting to tear up a bit.
"I thought you might be angry at this response," Link said to me. I cupped his cheeks with my leather-gloved hands, those deep ocean blue eyes gazing into my glowing cyan orbs.
"Why would I be when I was the one that fucked you all these months?" I said jokingly. Link then gave me a hug, his arms wrapping around my dark-purple 1st-class SOLDIER uniform, and mine around his sky-blue tunic. I then broke the hug, watching him smile and shed tears of joy.
"We'll raise this kid... together," I said. "We're gonna be a great family."
"Then best be expecting nine months of throwing up, weird food cravings, and violent mood swings," Link said to me. "It's gonna be a rough year..." I chuckled slightly, kissing the Hylian on his lips. It was short, but it was all the comfort I needed.
A very rough year, I thought.
Thanks for the support, guys! Love you so much! <3
