Link's POV
We had been planning the wedding for weeks now, and today was the big day. We planned to have the wedding somewhere in the island hall. Just about everyone was there. There was no way this day was going to be screwed up. Everyone was allowed to dress up formally. I was in the bride's room, dressed in my white tuxedo and crocheted veil. I was taking a look a the ring on my finger, thinking about what Cloud and I said to each other that day. Ike, my best man, walked into the room, admiring how amazing I looked.
"You look beautiful," the blue-haired mercenary said to me. I giggled a little bit from that compliment.
"Thanks," I answered. "I always knew this was going to happen. Cloud and I, the two of us putting down roots and starting a new life, maybe even have children..."
"I don't think it's biologically possible to have children, unless you adopt them or something," Ike said. "Anyway, you ready to step out?" I nodded in response, and Ike started adjusting my white tuxedo and veil. I grabbed my bouquet of flowers, trying to calm myself down from nervousness.
Cloud Strife's POV
I was fully dressed in my black tuxedo in the groom's room. It was kinda pretty funny Link and I proposed to each other at the same time. I stared at the ring on my finger, remembering what we both went through to get to each other, and it was worth it. Sonic the Hedgehog, my best man, walked in, eager for my wedding.
"You ready to go, buddy?" Sonic asked me, adjusting his cute little bow-tie and tuxedo.
"...I guess I am," I answered. "I'm a little nervous about today. I mean, my ex-girlfriend doesn't know about any of this."
"The Master Hand probably told her about the scenarios you're going through," Sonic said. "She'll think it's probably nothing. After all, do you really love Tifa?"
"Of course I do," I answered. "She's strong, brave, compassionate, anything that a guy would ever need. However, Link, even though he's a guy, feels like he's so much more..."
"So much more because of the fact that he was the first person you ever had to have sex with?" Sonic chuckled. I turned red by that remark.
"Let's... just forget about the fact you and everyone else had been spying on... whatever we were doing for today," I said. "Aren't you going to help show me to the altar?"
"Sure, I'm sure," Sonic answered. "After all, we got Robin as the bishop. I'm sure he might do a great job pronouncing you husband and... wife..." The blue hedgehog then took me by the hand, leading me to the hallway where the wedding was being held at.
I saw as I walked down the aisle that all the past veterans: the Ice Climbers, Snake, and new faces I had never seen before were sitting down to experience the wedding's audience. Me, a mere third-party member getting married to one of the oldest veterans of all time. Before the big event, Link managed to get a new look wearing his Champion's Tunic and Sheikah Slate. The white-haired tactician known as Robin was standing right in front of the preaching pedestal, holding a book of matrimony in his hands instead of a usual black arts spell document. At first, I thought it seemed really weird, but I just realized the world was weird as well.
White flower petals were raining from the blue ceiling, and Link was garmented with a gorgeous white tuxedo, a laced veil covering his head and pointed ears. Sonic let go of my arm and ran to take a seat next to a barbarian-looking warrior with dirty blond hair, fur-coated clothes, and a deadly chain whip with the handle shaped like a cross, who was also sitting next to a warrior garmented in blue with brown hair but seemed to be the barbarian's descendant.
The church bells rang, the organ started playing in the background, and Robin began reading from the book he had, followed by Pit and Dark Pit holding the wedding rings. And hour or two passed, with preaches and praises during the marriage, finally getting to the point of saying, "I do." The rings were passed to us, and we were officially declared husbands to the end.
I lifted Link's veil as Robin stepped aside. I gazed deep into my groom's eyes, my glowing cyan reflecting on his topaz blue. The wind blew Link's veil onto my head, making the both of us giggle a bit. Underneath the lacy silk, our lips drew closer as we took in a long kiss, savoring the moment that we have been pronounced truthfully wedded.
The other Smashers cheered as we broke the kiss, looking at us as a newly wedded couple. Link then stepped aside, throwing the bouquet of flowers into the air, a snapshot taken of our marriage.
If only Tifa was here to see this, I thought, worried about my relationship with her...
