Chapter 9: Spotlight

Ashido's POV

I certain boy walked to Yaomomo ignoring Bakugo's grunts. He stood infront of Momo saying nothing.

He was wearing hat and was looking down, Jirou cringed because of his presence as for Momo, Her face was painted with confusion.

I took a good look at the boy, half white and half red hair. I saw it since the hat wasn't really covering his whole head. It was none other than Prince Todoroki himself, I was about to scream but I refrained myself in doing so.

With that instant, Momo was grabbed by the wrist and now was dragged away from us. Does the Prince know her?

That question was bugging me as Momo was now out of sight.

Jirou, who just frozed in her seat remaind still.

"Jirou, will you excuse me for a moment?" I asked her I stood up.

"Yeah sure!" She said as I smiled at her and followed Momo and Prince Todoroki.

I was now nearing the stair's end when I heard people talking.

I looked at the hall cautiously and saw...

Momo and Prince Shouto talking to each other, as if they knew each other. They're so cute together, I could fangirl!

Then I saw Yaomomo giggle. If they knew each other, How did the prince met her in the first place?

I looked at them one more time and Momo was now leaving, directly going to where I was hiding.

"Crap!" With that, I ran as fast as I could back to Jirou.

"Hey! What's with you? Are you alright?" Jirou asked me. "Yeah I'm fine" I answered her then there goes Yaomomo walking to us.

"So? Who was that?" Jirou asked innocently. "Just a friend..." Yaomomo answered us.

"Yaomomo, I knew you since we were kids and I know I wasn't always there since I became a royal maid. But, I never knew you have a friend aside from us." I stated smirking at her.

"What do you mean, Mina?" She asked me confusement taking over her.

"Oh Nothing~~We'll talk about this later..." I said playfully at her.

"Umm...Okay" she said.

Momo's POV

Ashido is acting weird. But, nahh! We'll talk about this later so don't sweat.

I glanced at the arena as battles were still going on, and I took a look at the terrace where the royal family was and there I saw Shouto.

I just smiled, and shifted my gaze at Ashido.

"Hey Ashido? You're match is next right?" I asked her as she frantically stood up.

"Oh yeah! Gotta go! Yaomomo! Wish me luck!" She said as she darted off.

Her opponent was Aoyama, Oh well. I wished her the best.

"Alright folks! This will be the last battle for the part one of the tournament!" Present Mic announced as cheers and yell comtinued. Then I saw Ashido and Tokoyami walking to the battled field.

I clutched my hand to my chest as I mumbled, "You can do this! Ashido!"

"I wish Ashido the best of luck!" Jirou, who sat beside me beamed as I just nodded.

"In the right! Is something going to come out from those horns? Well...Its Mina Ashido!" Present Mic started as he introduced Ashido.

"And on the left! Is the shining shimmering young lad! Yuuga Aoyama!" He continued as he introduced Aoyama.

"This battled is going to be smooth!" Jirou stated as I nodded in agreement.

"Alright! BEGIN!" Present Mic's voice boomed once again making my eardrums explode.

And there, the battle started, I looked at Ashido who has a huge grin on her face.

"Classic Ashido." I mumbled.

Ashido's POV

"My second battle is going to a peice of cake!" I thought as I grinned.

Aoyama shot his naval laser at me and I easily dodged it.

"Whoopps!" I said as I dodged his attack. Then using my quirk, I put some acid on the ground with my shoes to make me ski through the field with ease.

"Since we became friends when we were kids! I know all about your quirk!" I yelled as I dodged his attack again.

I continued to ski while dodging at the same time.

He attacked me again and it was a big one but I went underneath it to dodged and with that, I skied my way to him.

I looked at his face and obviously his stomach is now hurting which is a good chance to counter attack.

"Now!" I yelled as I threw acid at his belt making it melt.

"Uh! My precious belt!" He said as he looked at his melted belt. His pants melted too and went down. He frantically pulled it upwards.

While he was so distracted. I quickly skid infront of him, taking this oppurtunity.

"I'll finish it!" I said as I aimed. "With this!" With that, I did an uppercut.

"Ow!" He muttered before he collapsed on the floor, unconcious.

"Aoyama fainted! The winner of this match is Ashido!" Midnight said.

"Ashido's easy victory is disputable!" Present Mic yelled as I grinned at the audience while giving peace signs.

"Get a hold of yourself." His buddy Eraser Head said to his friend.

Prince Shouto's POV

My jaw nearly dropped. "Ashido's good!" I stated.

"Yes! That's the reason why I allowed her to join the tournament!" Father said. Good thing I ran back to the castle to change back to my normal clothes or else dad will be scolding me non-stop by now.

"Yeah!" Fuyumi yelled. "Sush now dear." Mom said as Fuyumi sat back down on her chair giggling.

I turned to look back at the arena. "I wonder...what is the feeling to battle an opponent head-on?" I thought as I let out a sigh.

Momo's POV

"Alright! Ashido!" I yelled as I congratulated her.

"That was one classic battle!" Jirou who was seating beside me added.

"Yeah! Thanks!" Ashido beamed as she sat beside Jirou.

"So? Who's your next opponent?" Jirou asked.

"Since I lost against Tokoyami and Aoyama lost against Ashido!" I stated then I snapped my fingers.

I faced Ashido with a determined look. "You're next opponent is Tokoyami!" I said.

"Oh well! I'll beat him!" Ashido grinned as she put her fist up in the air. We let out a chuckle.

"Go for it!" I said as I gave her a wink and a thumbs up.

Prince Shouto's POV

"All of them are amazing! They will perfect to be knights! Even the ones who already lost." My father said which me, Fuyumi and mom agreed to.

"Ashido won!" I thought as I looked at Ashido who was Momo and another friend.

"I wonder...what will she react if she knew that me and momo are friends." I thought as I let out a sigh.

"Oh well...." I leaned back to the chair as I watched the battle between a boy named Kirishima and Tetsutetsu.

The have the same quirks so in the end, they beat each other up.

Present Mic announced that since its a tie, another match will be held later after they recover.

"All of them have such awesome quirks..." I muttered as I smiled.
