3rd Person's POV

Kang Chul sat next to the hospital bed, reading. 1 year has passed and he and his wife have been doing the same thing. For 1 year, they have been taking turns sleeping overnight at the hospital and will only stop until their daughter finally wakes up. She has been in a coma all this time ever since the incident. They said that the incident was a huge shock for her heart. It was now his turn to stay over at the hospital while his wife was currently out for a meeting instead of being in the hospital working.

Kang Chul was reading the comic series and would smile like an idiot to himself upon recalling the many memories.

"Dad?... " a restless voice came from beside him. He was so engrossed with the book that he didn't realise that his daughter had woke up. She was sitting on the bed rubbing her eyes weakly. He immediately placed his book down.

For a second, he thought that he was hallucinating again but this time his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. His daughter was sitting on the bed awake. Her eyes were half-opened and she was starring at her surprised father. In a split second, Kang Chul got up and pulled her into a tight hug. "Yeon Na-ah!"

She was so weak that all her energy were drained out. She was that weak that she couldn't bring her arms to hug her father back but she really wanted to. Kang Chul pulled out for a second and stroked her hair longingly. Although she could not bring her arms to hug him, she still managed to forced out a small but sincere smile but in her mind she wanted to smile her brightest.

Kang Chul informed the nurse that Yeon Na had woken up and she immediately called for the doctor.

"Dad... where's mum?" Yeon Na asked scanning the room, her own private room.

"I'll call her here. She should be done with her meeting." Kang Chul patted her head as he took out his phone and called Yeon Joo.

***
It has been half an hour and Yeon Joo still had not arrived. Kang Chul and Yeon Na waited patiently for Yeon Joo's appearance but to no avail.

After all the drama, it would not be weird if Kang Chul where to be worried that something bad could have happen to Yeon Joo. He felt like luck was never on his side. He called her phone repeatedly and Yeon Na could tell her father was worried. He was walking back and forth in the room waiting for her to pick up. When he was on the phone with her just now, she sounded extremely happy and relieved so he knew that she wanted to get there as fast as possible but why wasn't she there yet?

"Dad... Is everything fine?" Yeon Na looked at her father as he stopped and walked to her side. She could sense that something was not right and it definitely had something to do with her mum.

"Uh... Everything is fine. Just that mum's in a jam." He grabbed her hand and she placed her other hand on his furrowed eyebrows and tried to smooth them. Kang Chul held that hand and kissed it and a smiled grew on her face. She has been gaining more energy as the time past and was able to move properly. She felt more lively again but of course her actions were a bit limited.

Kang Chul moved back when someone answered the phone and, again, his happy face faded. In Yeon Na's view, she observed her father's expression turning from a confused look to a serious and anxious look but she could not hear what they were talking about.

"Yeon Joo-" Kang Chul was about to complain to his wife about why she was still not there but got cut off.

"Excuse me? Do you know the owner of this phone?" A lady at the other end asked.

"Who is this?" Kang Chul asked calmly not wanting to explode with questions.

"Oh... Well, the owner of this phone got into an accident and is admitted to the nearest hospital." She informed me.
