Yeon Na's POV

I woke up on my bed. The sun shone through my blinds against my face to which I use my palm to block it. As I sat up, I felt something heavy pull me around my waist. I look down to have noticed Jae Sang snuggling against my side and his arms wrapped around my waist. I stared at him with confusion written all over my face.

His eyes fluttered open and he looked at me. I could still see the sleep in his eyes but he smiled sheepishly at me. "Good morning beautiful."

"Jae, what are you doing here?" I asked as he closed his eyes refusing to get up. His brows furrowed at my question before he forced himself to sit up beside me. He cupped my cheeks, eyes still closed as he asks, "What are you talking about? I've been here since yesterday."

"But I remembered that we broke up. I was running home but suddenly everything turned pitch black." I said as I held his hand making him open his eyes to meet mine. I felt my heart race as I felt his touch.

"Babe, you must have had a bad dream." he says kissing my forehead before he grabbed the back of my head and gently pulled me into his embrace. I held his arm still confused but I hoped it really was just a bad dream. I recognised the vanilla smell he had. It brought relief but then I glanced at my arm, the one that held his. My eyes travelled down to my wrist, I twisted it to face me and that's when I realised, the mark was gone. Oddly, my mind believed it.

"Yeon Na... I'm really sorry." Jae Sang muttered softly, I almost didn't catch it.

"For what?" his voice became really soft.

"But I just can't stay by your side."

"What are you talking about?" I ask pulling out of his embrace. Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, he was standing quite a distance away from me and I stayed on the bed. It was like my room expanded and he stood at the very end, opposite to me.

"I hope you can forgive me in the future." his voice could barely be heard at this point. Fear started washing over me.

"Jae Sang, come back. I can't hear you." but he only got further.

Then, I saw complete black again. This time, I felt a strong tightness in my wrist and a slight tightness in my hand. My eyes fluttered open and just as I hoped, Jae Sang sat by my bed with his eyes closed and hand in mine. I winced slightly when the tighteness in my wrist randomly shot. I tried to move but my body had felt so weak. I felt something wet against my cheek. I touched my cheek only to realised that it was my tears. Being unwell brings out your vulnerability. Soon, more tears strolled down my cheeks like raindrops. All I could do was admire his face and wish for him to never wake up but that could never happen. He started moving his head signalling that he was waking up so I immediately pretended to be asleep, hoping that the room was dim enough for him not to realise the tear stains and that him thinking that I was still asleep would make him stay longer.

The soft grip on my hand was soon released after a pair of soft lips touched the back of my hand. I felt his hand pull away and immediately forced my eyes open. I saw Jae Sang's back as his walked away and immediately forced myself to sit up on my bed.

"Jae Sang..." I called out to him to which he halted but didn't look back. I wanted to get off the bed but my body was too weak for that.

"What happened?" I asked trying to make sure that I don't say the wrong things leading to him leaving faster.

"I saw you faint." he simply answered in a monotone.

"But the route I take home is different from yours." I state, realising that he could have been following me home the whole time.
