3rd person POV

She made her way in the house carefully, shouting for any survivors. All she could hear was the cries of a child so she followed it. The smoke from the fire was slowly choking her. She found the kitchen and quickly took a cloth, wet it and covered her mouth and nose with it. When she got close to the cries, she saw two unconscious bodies on the floor. She screamed internally. Yeah, she may be a doctor but it just shocked her to see them there.

"Excuse me! Please wake up! Can you hear my voice?" She tried her best to get them to wake up and respond to her but she didn't receive a reply. She opened their eyes to check and looked for a pulse but there weren't any. Suddenly, a board from the ceiling fell. She realised that if she doesn't get out soon, she would be stuck there too.

She quickly looked for the child and when she did, the poor thing was in the cradle crying her lungs out. The look on the child's face made her really soft in the inside. I quickly switched the cloth to the child, held the child securely as she tried to run out of the house.

Immediately when she step out the door steps of the house, she turned around to see that she was now in the hospital again. All this changing is seriously giving her a whiplash. Patients that walk by her were giving her looks. She was a doctor in her uniform that was covered in dust and ashes, carrying a young child. Her face was also stained with ashes.

"Yeon Joo! Where were you? Wait where did you get that little girl from?" Nurse Min asked confused.

Yeon Joo looked down at the child that had stopped crying. What was she supposed to do with the girl in her arms now?

So she waited, taking care of the child in the meantime. She waited for the time she gets dragged back into that universe again but it never occurred. Soon, she and her husband got attached to the little one and both of them was never dragged in again.

Yeon Na's POV

Mum explained her story after Jae Sang convinced me to go back after a while. I was drenched in rain with a towel wrapped around me. I knew myself that I would not be able to remain this mad at her, especially since she just woke up but I wanted to hold my ego for as long as I could.

"We wanted to tell you when you were 16 together but I assumed your dad had already done so even though I have been unconscious. Then it slipped out my mouth. Honey, trust me, this isn't the way we wanted to tell you." mum grabbed my hands looking at me with desperate eyes. I could not bring my eyes to hers. I looked away, wiping my tears before getting up. I looked at dad to see that he had his head down.

"It's late. Get some rest. I-I'm just gonna go to my room now." I stuttered as it was hard getting words out my mouth at this point. I knew I was different but I didn't think I was this different. I don't even belong here, literally. "I'll hear the whole explanation when I think I'm ready."

"Sure dear. Take as much time as you want." Mum nodded while caressing the side of my arm.

I secured the towel around me before leaving the room where I met Hye Rin and Jae Sang standing there. They both looked at me with sadness in their eyes too. I sniffed. I think I'm gonna catch a cold or was it because I was crying?

Honestly, I wanted to break down but I didn't want to do so in front of mom and dad. "I forgot to brush the rain off my face." I laughed with a stiff smile on my face.

Hye Rin carried on leaving a look of sadness. She opened her arms and I couldn't help but run into them, breaking down in tears again. I held her tightly while sobbing while she laid her head on my shoulder. I looked over her shoulder to see Jae Sang standing there with a sad smile. I held my hand out and he grabbed it hesitantly before his grip became secure.

The next morning I actually had a cold from the rain last night. I had puffy eyes and my throat was dry and sore but that didn't stop me from going to school. I didn't want to give myself so much time to think about the situation. To be honest, I didn't want to think about it all.

Breakfast was awkward. No one spoke though I could tell that dad wanted to. Mum was still upstairs cause her muscles were too numb for her to move yet which made me have one person less to be awkward with in the morning.

In school, Jae Sang and Hye Rin just acted naturally. I could tell that Jae Sang had a small cold too with his not so well hidden coughs but he wasn't the only who got caught. Discreetly, he whispered to me, "Why are you in school when you are sick?"

"Could ask you the same." I whispered back.

"Well... I'm just coughing. You look terrible unlike me." He winked while I rolled my eyes. Then I remembered about what happen last night and how he's so chill right now. Is he also going to act like that never happened?

"Ha Ha, very funny. I didn't wanna stay at home and anyway it's not as bad as it looks." I said lowing my voice towards the end.

"Then, wanna ditch school with me and go somewhere?" He asked sounding serious. I looked at him surprised. He smiled brightly and grabbed my hand after smiling at Hye Rin like he was talking to her with his eyes and she seemed to get it as she nods. Since when were they close enough to have secret languages when they just met yesterday?

Jae Sang dragged me out of school secretly and dragged me to somewhere else.

Soon, we were getting on a bus. "Where are we going to?" I asked again.

"My secret place. It's just a bit of a distance away too." Jae Sang told me still gripping on my hand even though we were sitting down.

"Ok, here we are." Jae Sang announced with a big smile.

We were at a hidden part of some park. It was quite hard to get here. There was a big rock in the middle. We both sat there and enjoyed the scenery. There were many beautiful flowers here.

"I came here often after school last time before I was being watched by a hawk. It's a good place to relax." he said closing his eyes and breathing in the fresh air. At that moment, I couldn't help but admire how peaceful he looked.

"Also, you don't exactly think I would just forget right?" He smirked at me.

"I-I don't know what you are talking about." I looked away from him.

"Hmm... Let me help you remember then." He said leaning in but I panicked and push him away.

"I remember!" I nervously shouted and Jae Sang just chuckled at me.

"I like you, Yeon Na. Though this timing to confess is a bit weird but the surrounding is perfect." He smiled innocently rubbing his nape. I smiled at that and rested my head on his shoulder.

Then I got off in a instant when I started coughing roughly. I felt faint and exhausted. I looked at my wrist and noticed that the timer started 20 minutes ago. I looked back up at Jae Sang. He looked really worried. I weakly showed him my wrist.

"Not as bad as it looks huh?" He nagged and I weakly rolled my eyes at him.

"Just help me please." I whined tiredly.

"Always." He said with a cocky smile before kissing my forehead. After which, he helped me get down but my knees buckled and I lost my balance causing me to fall which led to me falling into his arms.

"You look really pale. This isn't good." Jae Sang's tone turned serious. He carried me on his back as he walked out of this magical place. I drowned in his smell and soon fell asleep on his back.
