Chapter 24: Recovering and Secrets

"Just come with me, Eren wants to see you!" Why did he suddenly want to see me, and wait, he's finally woken up? Has he been in a coma or something? I felt so worried. I felt Armin pull my arm, and I had no choice but to follow. We walked across the hallways and made turns around the building. When it began to feel like we've walked many miles, we stopped by the new "mini hospital" as they decided to build two just in case one was full. I peeked over the door to see Mikasa tightly grasping onto Eren's hand, looking at him, her eyes showing nothing but affectionate love and care for him. I smiled at the sight, yet also felt some kind of pain, but I quickly brushed it away. "Y/N? Are you okay?" I heard Armin's voice behind me. I looked over my shoulder, to see him giving me a confused look, as if he was wondering what I was thinking in my mind. "I-I'm fine, I was just thinking something." I reassured him. Armin lead me into the room and Eren quickly spotted me from the corner of his eye. "Y/N!" He said joyfully as he opened his arms up for a hug. I walked over and hugged Eren, worried for what happened to him. "What happened to you?" I asked. "Well, it's kind of a long story," He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I can listen" I said as I sat down on the cold floor, offering Mikasa the chair nearby. "Well, what happened was..."

Eren explained the whole story, on how one of the cadets he has known by the name of Annie, turned out to have similar powers as him. She was the same titan who attacked me, and paralyzed me. She came back and Eren fought against her, which was a battle he won after long hours. After, he went unconscious and was taken to the hospital. I tried to take this all at once. Now I really wanted to take an axe and break the crystal that was surrounding this traitor. "At least your feeling better, right?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled. "Sure am! And hopefully I can get out of this bed really soon" He said with a cheerful smile. My heart melted when I saw his smile, and I looked over at Mikasa, who didn't look too happy that Eren was smiling at me. I tried to destroy the tension by coughing and giving a straight face. "Well, that's good to hear then, I really hope you do feel better soon." Eren nodded. "It's good to see you again, I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it to be honest, but I'm glad I did." I couldn't help but chuckle, I'm pretty sure no one could live without Eren. "We are all glad you did," I looked at Armin and then Mikasa, and they both nodded in agreement. I then felt Eren's touch against my hand. His hands were soft and comfortable. I was eased by his touch, but then remembered I had some work to attend to. "I-I must go finish some paperwork. The minute I left my bed Erwin dropped a pile of papers on my desk, so now I am stuck and having to report to my duties as a Squad Leader" I said with a sigh. Eren frowned, obviously not wanting me to leave yet. "Alright then, we'll see you later then (Y/N)" Eren said. I waved goodbye to all of them as I left the room, and headed over to my office. As I was heading over to my office, I quickly peered inside of Levi's office, wondering if he was inside. I couldn't see him in his room, so I suspected he must have been busy. I was about to leave when I felt a hot breath against my neck. I shrieked and turned around, looking at Levi. "Levi what the hell?!?!" I hissed at him. Levi shook his head "Oi brat you are in my way! Don't you have some work to take care of first before peering into my room?" He was right, I couldn't be playing around at this moment. "Yes I am busy! But I just wanted to see you quickly!"

"How Come?"

"Well, I wanted to ask you about,"

"About what?"

I tried to think of something fast, I knew Levi wouldn't be too happy if he knew I came by his office for no reason. Then I quickly thought of a question "About the note! Yes! I wanted to ask you about the note you gave me. When do you want to see me?" "Oh the note, yes about that I was going to come to your office later and talk to you about it, but since you're here and are asking me, I might as well tell you now." I wondered what he meant by the note. Was something going to happen? "I want to meet you tomorrow by the stables at 4:30 p.m. sharp you hear me? I have a surprise for you, but I won't tell you anything," I felt my mind rush into a million of ideas. What did he mean by this? What was going to happen? "Okay sounds g-" By that time I was talking to myself as he already was in his office, working on his remaining paperwork. I gave a sigh and walked away, feeling like I carried away too much.

"Signed by (Y/N) (L/N) Squad Leader of the Survey Corp." I dropped my pen on the ground and took a deep breath, finally I have finished all my paperwork that took me until midnight to complete. I called over Alex to hand them to Erwin and decided to head to my bedroom. I plopped onto my bed, loving the sensation of resting my body. I then closed my eyes, and tried to recall what Levi said earlier.

"I want to meet you tomorrow by the stables at 4:30 p.m. sharp you hear me?"

I smiled with my eyes closed as I tried to figure out why he wanted to meet me. Could he want to talk about serious matters? Maybe a change happening? Maybe just to talk? Or maybe...

No, I'm just overthinking, that's all.

I laid my head on my pillows and tried to fall asleep, but thoughts of Levi kept surrounding my mind. I decided I needed to grab a drink, so I walked outside my bedroom and went to the kitchen to grab myself a glass. As I poured some water, I heard a strange sound, like two people whispering. "They discovered she can turn into Titan, this is bad news, I don''t know how much longer we ca-" "No one is going to find out about anything! Calm down! We are just two normal humans, and that's all period." "Alright..." At that instant I felt like dropping my glass onto the floor. What did I just hear, is there a secret between us? Is there a spy undercover? I shook my head, maybe I'm just making up things, it's midnight after all, everyone can't think well at this time. After I got a drink, I walked down the hallway, Holding my candlelight in one hand. I could make out the sounds of the air, and the nocturnal animals roaming around in the moonlight. I could hear the branches of trees brushing against the windows and, "They'll know one day, we must go according to plan. Alright?"
