Chapter 18: Chat in a cart

*GASP!*

I woke up in quite a shock. I looked at my surroundings. I then quickly recognized that I were in one of the carts they used for injured or dead soldiers. I tried to get up, but my whole body hurt like hell for some reason, maybe it was because of what happened with the titan....

Wait....

Then how am I still alive?

Well whatever the reason, I'm glad to have another chance at life. I don't want to be dead just yet. "(Y/N)!" I heard a voice calling for me. I turned to the voice's direction and saw Levi heading towards me. "(Y/N) thank goodness your alive! I thought I lost you! You weren't waking up so I thought you would be gone and when I heard the news about you being injured my heart stopped and I didn't know what to do please forgive me (Y/N) for not being at your side next time I-" I silenced him by holding a finger to his lips. "It's okay Levi I'm here. You don't need to worry." You shot him a weak smile so that you would convince him.He stared at you for a moment, which caused everything around you two to be quiet. Suddenly, he pulled you into a tight hug. "Ow! Levi please...." You whimpered at him. He quickly looked down and apologized. "Sorry (Y/N), got a little carried away." I smiled at his cute apology. Again, I tried to get up, but failed miserably again. "Dammit not again! Why!?!?" You whined in frustration. I shared a stare with Levi. He looked hard into my (E/C) orbs, while I looked into his sliver blue ones. He seemed hurt and upset. I didn't know why. "(Y/N) there is something you need to know...." "What?" I asked him. He took my hands into his, tightening his grip around them. "When the titan made the big stomp, you fell hard on the ground, causing your body to fell intense pain. We found out that your body would heal properly very soon again." "Oh thank God!" I interpreted his conversation with me. "But your legs.... They became paralyzed and we found out that it would take at least 3 years for them to heal." At those words, my eyes widened with horror. "What? No this can't be! How will I go on missions!?!?" I said in a panicked tone. He hugged me a second time, with less force. I hugged him back, tears flowing quietly from my eyes. After we shared a hug, Levi let go. "(Y/N), I have more bad news to tell you...." He said in a depressed tone. "What is it?" I asked him with a hint of worry in your voice. "During this mission, we found a female titan...." My eyes widened. A female titan? Did genders exist in titans to!?!? "We also found out that the female titan was a human being who had the same powers as Eren." I nodded kinda shocked about more people having the same powers as Eren."So what happened?" I asked him curiously. "Well you see, we tried to catch the female titan, but we failed. Eren also transformed into a titan trying to kill him, but he didn't succeed either. After that, we had to leave defeated once again." I frowned at what Levi said. I also pissed that I couldn't have a chance to see the female titan. "Well that's that." I said with a sigh. We both looked at each other, but then I realized the ugly truth about Petra. "So where's your girlfriend?" I said growling the last word. Levi froze for a minute, but then grabbed my shoulders gently. I gave a small squeak, but calmed down. "Petra is.... Dead" He said with his voice bitter as ice. "No.... How!?!?!" I said almost jumping from my skin. "Not only her, but my whole squad...." Levi said with a hint of regret in his voice. This time, I was the one who gave Levi a comforting hug. "Don't worry Levi, I too lost a comrade in this mission...." I began to remember my comrade Bryan, he was so nice as brave, he didn't deserve to die.

~Flashback~
"Bryan Green!" Erwin's voice rang aloud the training area. The new cadets from the training corps were finally getting assigned to their own squad. (Y/N) stood next to Levi, who was also waiting to receive his new squad. The cadet named Bryan stepped up at the calling of his name. Erwin looked at the young man and said," Bryan Green, you will be assigned to Miss. (Y/N)'s squad. We hope you treat her with respect and you serve your squad well." Bryan did the salute and walked over (Y/N) and held out a hand. "Hi, My full name is Bryan Green, but you can call be Bryan." (Y/N) nodded and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Bryan, hopefully we can work together very soon." (Y/N) said shooting him a smile.

~End of Flashback~
I then felt a bit sleepy after all that happened. Levi slowly put me down and let me rest. "Rest for now (Y/N), you had a day." Levi hopped from the cart and walked to the front of the line." I let out a weak smile and let my eyes drift me to sleep.
