An hour after Deidara went away. "Deidara-kun! I brought some food for you!" No answer.
"Deidara-kun?" She called. She set down the food and peeked out of the window. "Not here, huh?" She went out of Shikamaru's room and onto her room. "Not here, too? Did he leave?"
Disappointment was plastered on her face. She wanted to talk with him more. He seemed to be an interesting guy.
Never have she ever been interested in other guy aside from Shikamaru.
'Am I seriously being unloyal to Shikamaru-kun?' Y/N questioned herself.
She sighed and went back to put the food in the fridge.
First day of being grounded. It's not that bad at all, she thought as Deidara lingers in her mind.
[Y/N's POV]
Day 2 of being grounded.
I woke up, did my routine. Helped Yoshino-san in doing chores.
I'm getting used to doing chores. Am I becoming a wife-material?! I thought as an imagination erupted in my mind.
A blush covered my cheeks and Yoshino-san took notice of that. "Are you alright, Y/N? Are you sick?"
"U-uh, um, no. I'm completely alright, Yoshino-san." I exclaimed.
I should probably stop imagining impossible things. I sighed.
An idea popped up in my head. "Yoshino-san." I called.
"Yes, Y/N?"
"Can you teach me how to cook?"
"Yeah, sure. Why not?" She smiled. "Why so sudden though?"
The question took me by surprise. I chuckled awkwardly. "Nothing...I just want to be useful..." I looked down and frowned.
She smiled warmly and pat me on the head. "You're useful enough, Y/N. Don't let yourself down. Come on, I'll teach you some. Don't you want to impress Shikamaru?" She smirked.
My cheeks went crimson red. "I-I didn't say that...!!"
She laughed. "You're such an adorable child, Y/N."

Dinner was done. Hopefully, the food I cooked tonight would be edible enough since Yoshino-san assisted anyway and fixed the mistakes.
I took a plateful of food and set it aside for Deidara-kun to taste it later. I'm pretty sure he's gonna come back tonight.
I know because I am probably the first person who would listen to his entire talk of his passion for art. So, knowing that made my heart soar in excitement.
I started putting clean plates on the dining table when Shikaku-san arrived from work.
"I'm home." He greeted.
"Welcome back, dear." Yoshino-san greeted back as she grabbed all the groceries Shikaku-san bought.
Yoshino-san emerged to the dining room with satisfied smile. Guess, Shikaku-san didn't forget the groceries. If he did, voice of Yoshino-san would be fuming again.
Shikaku-san followed suit and sat on one of the chairs and agitatedly waited for the reaction of the older Nara. "It's good." He complimented.
I sighed in relief and dig in. After we were done with the dinner, I asked Yoshino-san if I could make the dinner for tomorrow.
Tomorrow's chores and household things to do would probably be the last thing I would do tomorrow. It may or may not be. I have to make a choice.
If I were to go with the Akatsuki, I would be leaving things in here. Memories I have started, feelings that grew each time and most of all, the trust I have given them would be broken.
If I were to stay, I could always see Shikamaru-kun and my friends. The trust may build up into full trust.
But I would suffer with grief and jealousy.
I sneaked up the food I set aside for Deidara-kun and went up to my room. Fortunately, as soon as I closed my door, Deidara-kun erupted from the sky. He dispersed his ride into small cute spiders and let it crawl inside my room. He turned it back into a lifeless clay and put it back in his pouches. "Deidara-kun!" I called out.
"Yo, Y/N." He cooly said.
I smiled and sat on the edge of my bed. "I made the dinner. I want you to try it out since Shikamaru-kun's still out in the mission." I handed out the dish.
"Speaking of that guy, I saw him on our mission. We just happen to pass by where they're going. We didn't want any fights so we avoided them, un."
"Did they see you!?" I exclaimed.
"I don't think so. I just saw them through my eye scope." He swept his long bangs sideways, revealing a scope covering his left eye.
I touched them. "What are they for?" I giggled.
"It's to train my eye to counter genjutsu." He explained as he scooped a spoonful of the food and ate it. "This is good, un."
"Really?" I asked, hopefully.
He nodded, smiling. "Uum...was Shikamaru-kun with someone else?"
Again, he nodded. "Yeah. A fat one and two girls, un."
"Two girls? What do they look like?"
"From what I saw, they're both blond and hair's tied up but the other one's tied up with two pairs of pigtails. She's walking quite closely to the Nara but they're just walking, probably talking with each other, un." He described.
Talking with each other. Hopefully, it's just mission related talks.
"Is she your rival or something?" He questioned out of the blue.
Eyes widen and heat erupted from my face. "This may sound weird but leader-sama has given us information about you. So, it's no secret to us that you might actually fancy your rescuer, un."
"I-I didn't say anything!" My face, reddening more.
He giggled. "You're adorable, un."
A lot of people may have said that I'm adorable but my heart only skips when Shikamaru-kun tells me that, which he never does, by the way.
But for some weird reason, my heart skipped when Deidara-kun told me that.
Adorable...wonder if he ever actually thought if I'm adorable.
I looked back at the Akatsuki member in front of me and noticed that what he told me must have affected 'cause I am certain his cheeks are tinted a bit of red. "F-forget what I said, un!" He exclaimed, flustered.
"You know, I actually think you're the one who's cute."
"Wha—?!"
"I mean, look at you. You got nicer hair than mine, you got beautiful blue eyes and your ninjutsu is awesome!" I said.
The red tint on his cheeks went exaggerated. "See? Getting compliments like this makes you cute, Deidara-kun!" I giggled.
He hesitantly stood up and said, "I better go. If you're not gonna answer me about joining or no, then I'm leaving."
"What!? Why!? I thought you're gonna tell me about your ninjutsu." I whined.
"I can tell you that everyday when you join in." He retorted.
"What if I don't join?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Then, I can tell you before..." He stopped.
"Before what, Deidara-kun? Don't hang up on me like that."
"Nevermind. I can tell you tomorrow then. You got your last chance to decide tomorrow, anyway, un."
What was that? Before what?
I nodded and bid goodbye to him as he was pretty determined to leave, telling me that someone might caught us.
The words he told me lingered in my thoughts. What could Akatsuki want with me?
