Chapter 18: I Am Your Darkness

I climbed on one of the tallest tree. "Oi, Y/N!" Deidara called, startled at my sudden move.

Once he followed, he saw what I saw. There was a small village with a tiny shop just a few yards away from the village. I think it was a necessity shop that if you happen to forget something when you're about to go somewhere, you can stop by there.

In front of that shop was a wooden bench. Two figures were sitting on it and no matter how far I am, I always recognize that pony tail.

"Shikamaru-kun..." I muttered. Are they on a mission?

Deidara-kun used his eye scope to get a better view of what they were doing. "Oh. That's the girl I was talking about before. The one with two pairs of pigtails."

"I knew it..." Voice laced with ill will. Deidara-kun glanced at me with concern. "It's Temari. They may or may not be in a relationship that's why they're so close..."

Why exactly do we keep bumping with these people? Especially him?

Is the world trying to tell me that my choice was wrong?

It may have been wrong but I don't want them to get hurt anymore...

"I'm glad you're actually willing to help us out." Shikamaru-kun said once we were close enough to hear them.

"Sunagakure will always be an ally of Konoha. I am just doing what Gaara has told us to do." She looked away from him.

For some reason, Ino and Choji were nowhere to be seen. Those guys! They really know when to leave them alone!

"No, I mean it, Temari. Coming with us here in this mission is a totally great help. If it weren't for you, we would've probably be dead by now." He looked down. "Besides, you're the light that guide me out of my darkness." He murmured.

Unfortunately, my wolf ears has heard every single thing he's said. Heartbeat linked with pain roared through my chest.

I knew it.

I knew it.

I was nothing to him.

Not even worth thinking about.

"Y/N." Deidara-kun called.

Before he could stop me, I went down the tree and revealed myself from the couple.

They were caught red-handed in what they were doing. "Who's there!?" Temari shouted as she prepared her massive fan.

I smirked and went out of the shadows. "Shikamaru-kun...if she's your light...then I'm certainly your darkness."

"Y/N!" Shikamaru-kun exclaimed, chocolate eyes shooting daggers at me.

Oh how I used to love those eyes. I still do.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to fight. I just caught your scent not too far away." Deidara-kun has climbed down the tree as well, standing by side.

"Hmph." Temari looked at me, mockingly. "If you're not here to fight, what the hell are you doing here?" She looked totally in a bad mood. Probably because I ruined her time with him.
