I've Always Been [Shikamaru x Reader x Deidara]

Chapter 16: Seeing You Again

"I'm done changing." I said as I emerged from behind the wall.

"Hey, hey, Y/N!" Tobi called. "Deidara-senpai just told me—"

He was cut off by Deidara-kun. "Oi Tobi! I'm gonna fucking kill you if you don't shut your mouth!"

I giggled. "What was that for?"

"N-nothing." Deidara-kun looked away. "A-anyway, we should go."

Riding Deidara-kun clay bird was way more fun, more faster, and more convenient than walking.

Although, walking was kind of part of my training. Walking on all fours while I'm in my wolf form. Ugh.

"Y/N." Tobi called.

"Hm?"

"Where'd you get that tail and ears?"

"What are you saying?" I asked confusedly as I reached for my head and felt ears on top of my head. "W-what!?"

"Your human ears disappeared, too, un." Deidara-kun butted in.

"Of course, it would. These wolf ears are my real ears—"

I was interrupted by someone that punched on a concrete floor. Our attention was quickly switched.

This is the first I would be seeing him as an enemy. "Shikamaru-kun..." I muttered.

He was being protected by other three Konoha ninjas. One of them was Asuma-sensei.

They were up against the immortals, Hidan and Kakuzu.

"Deidara-kun." I said.

He nodded and stopped right beside an electrical post. I hopped off the clay bird and stood at the top of the post, watching the battle unfold.

[3rd POV]

Hidan started to depict the symbol of his religion on to the earth while blabbering some immortal nonsense to the Konoha ninjas.

After a few minutes of staring at each other, Asuma-sensei took the first move. Followed by Hidan who used one of the huge kunai blade. In an instant, the kunai blade was cut in half.

Shikamaru immediately made a move. Scattering his shadows to capture Hidan as Hidan threw his three blade scythe in the air.

With quick reflex, Asuma was able to dodge. What's he gonna do with it anyway? Y/N thought.

And, in a speed of light, they clashed again with Hidan using the other huge kunai blade.

Shikamaru stood up from his position and finally took noticed of the wolf girl and the blond. "Y/N!?" Shikamaru exclaimed.

Y/N responded nothing. She wore an emotionless expression, all to conceal her lingering feelings to the genius.

Hidan threw his red scythe once more. Asuma, upon noticing the distraction, he used his friend's attack, the welcoming approach: thousand-armed murder.

Landing an attack on Hidan was successful. He continued to swing his scythe whilst he dodges on Shikamaru's shadow.

As soon as he landed on the ground, he started running towards Shikamaru. "I'll kill off the kiddies first!" He said.

When Y/N heard this, she was determined to stop Hidan but she was stopped by Deidara. "Don't. You're an Akatsuki now, un."

"But, Deidara-kun—!"

"You're fighting me!" Asuma shouted at Hidan.

Hidan leaped from the place he was standing on and swung his scythe mid-air.
