Sabine's POV
"This is... amazing!" I exclaimed.
Sarah stood in front of me with a worried look on her face. "Really?" she asked.
"Yep!" I answered. "The Dark Side of you is shrinking. That's why your scar is getting smaller."
"It's...shrinking?"
"Yeah. Because you aren't using the Force, the Dark Side can't feed off of anything, so it is slowly going away."
"Great." Sarah said. But, she didn't sound fully convinced.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
Sarah answered, "No. It's fine. It's just...the Dark Side of me balances out the Light. If there is an imbalance, I can't... I won't be able to..."
"Control any of it?" I finished.
Sarah sighed and nodded.
This was bad. Really bad. If she kept those cuffs on, the Dark Side could completely deplete, then Sarah would not even be able to control the Light Side that she has.
Those cuffs had to come off.
I walked out of Sarah's room and went straight to Hera's room, hoping she can reason with me.
Hera's POV
I was in my room looking through the old mission logs for any lead of how to fight the Empire when Sabine came in. "Hera, we need to talk."
She sounded a bit worried. I closed the logs and walked towards her. "What is it, Sabine?"
"It's about Sarah. The Dark Side in her is depleting, and fast."
"Okay..." I honestly could not tell if she was excited or worried. "So, what's the matter?"
"Well," Sabine explained, "if there is too much of an imbalance between her Light and Dark Side, she won't be able to control either of them. Too much Dark Side, and it will take over her. Too much of the Light, and...well...her body won't be able to hold it, and...she will die."
I almost fell then and there. We had already lost Kanan. Now, Sarah may die, too?
"Are you okay, Hera?" Sabine asked.
"Yeah," I stammered, "yeah, I'm okay. It's just...a lot to take in. Are you telling me that she is going to die soon?"
Sabine quickly answered, "Not exactly. She can still be okay...but, a lot of people wouldn't like it."
"What do you mean?"
"It's the cuffs that are blocking the Force from being used. That is what's depleting her energy. If we can take them off, then she should be capable of getting back to normal."
"Sabine, I..."
"I know you don't like it, Hera," Sabine added, "but this is Sarah's life we are talking about. We have to at least try to save her, right?"
She had me. I had already made the decision to put the cuffs on her, so a lot of other rebels may think I am an indecisive leader, which nobody really wants. But, Sabine was right. Sarah's life was on the line.
I sighed. "You're right," I finally answered, "Sarah does need those cuffs off."
Sabine smiled and started walking out.
"I'm not done."
She stopped and turned around. "What else is there to talk about?"
"There should at least be some restrictions, just to be safe. For Sarah and for the other rebels." Sabine listened in intently. "You can take the cuffs off of her for now. But, when she finally stabilizes, the cuffs go back on. From there, they can come on and off periodically."
Sabine nodded in agreement. Now everyone gets what they want.
Ezra's POV
I sat outside with Zeb, looking at the sunset. Neither of us had much else to do, so why not relax for a while?
"How you holdin' up, kid?" Zeb asked.
"Alright, I guess," I answered, "I mean, nothing horrible has really happened lately, but nothing really great, either."
"Sure." Zeb added, making me turn with a weird look in my face in a way that looked like I didn't believe him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.
Zeb smiled at me and looked back at the sunset. "Yeah, nothing big has been going on, y'know, except that a Jedi Temple completely vanished, you and Sarah were somehow able to go through a rock, you passed out like a girl—"
"Hey!" I exclaimed, lightly punching him in the shoulder.
"I'm not done." Zeb said, slightly laughing. I stayed silent to listen to the rest of his story. "You and Sabine kissed, we somehow made it back alive to the base, Sarah turned evil, you and Hera got hurt, you saved Sarah, she wears Force-blocking cuffs now, Sarah can see, and we finally have a break from the Empire. Sure, absolutely nothing big happened lately."
I laughed. I guess he was right. A lot has been happening recently. I guess I just considered those things small, not as big as fighting against the Empire with the whole fleet around us.
I heard something come out of hyperspace above us. The sky slowly grew darker. Zeb and I looked up to see what it was.
A Star Destroyer came over the base. Zeb and I ran under cover to make sure we are not seen.
But, It kept moving past the base. We sighed in relief. But, we quickly took that back when we noticed a couple of speeders zooming towards the base from a distance.
Here they come.......
Hola, senors and senoritas!! (Sorry, bad at Spelling in Spanish)
I will have an Avengers: Infinity War Review in my Marvel One-Shots book up pretty soon. Just to warn you, there will be many spoilers throughout it, so don't look at it unless you are not going to see the movie, or if you have already seen it.
