Ezra's POV
I walked out to where Hera was standing. I had just woken up from when I passed out after touching the Temple hand. She told me that the new grassland place was where the Temple used to be.
After we talked for a little bit, she went back into the walker. I was about to turn back when I saw a figure in the distance.
A Lothwolf stood in the mist, staring at me with its yellow eyes. I knew who it was. The only person who would care enough to come and see us. I smiled.
"Goodbye, Kanan." I said.
With that, the two of us turned and went our separate ways, knowing we were both in good hands.
Sarah's POV
Sabine was taking a test on a part of the scar. It hurt a lot more than last time, though. She had to stick a needle into the scar (Don't worry; she cleaned it first) since we didn't have any of the usually-safer tools to test it. It felt like my mind was being split in half. Of course, I tried not to show it; it might have startled her or made her move the needle even deeper.
Good thing her wrist computer worked. She placed the sample inside of it and checked for dark matter. Her facial expression gave it all away. "It's bad, isn't it?" I asked.
She sighed. "Yeah, it is. The dark matter is almost 1.5 times to your normal Force signature. It is pretty much 1.5 times larger than you. You're lucky to be staying intact."
"But," I asked, "why does it hurt whenever I get close to the sith or the Emperor?"
"So that's what you saw in the Temple." Sabine said. After she typed a few more things onto her wrist computer, she answered, "The best guess I could make would be that since it is trying to take over your body, it is trying to take dark matter from other things like a Sith Lord or the Emperor... especially the Emperor." She put her hand on my shoulder. "Honestly, the only thing I know you should do would be to get some rest. We don't have that many opportunities of rest, and this is the day to rest."
Sabine was right. We have all been constantly moving, searching, and fighting.
This was the time to relax and rest.
Not one second after I sat in the chair, I fell asleep.
Later..............................
Ezra's POV
I woke up from my much-needed nap refreshed and ready to fight another day.
Everyone else was asleep when I woke up, so I decided to climb up on the top of the walker and look out at the sunrise.
The multiple suns rising up above the grasslands was a magnificent sight to see. They were as red as the Sith, and the sky was an amazing purple-and-orange blend. For the first time ever, Lothal felt like a place the Empire could never touch. With the suns reflecting onto the wildlife below it, it felt surreal, as if this were a vision of the past.
I heard someone climb the stairs up to the top. Sabine opened the hatch to the top, looked at me, and smiled. I started to blush. It was just us up here.
"Hey." I said,
"Hey."
We sat in silence for a long time until the sky became its normal light blue color once again.
I looked at Sabine. She was genuinely smiling. A happy smile, not a comforting one. I slowly creeped my hand over to hers. Her hand opened up.
We held hands.
Zeb's POV
I was trying so hard not to laugh out loud!!!
I didn't see Sabine or Ezra anywhere inside of the walker, so I climbed up to the top to see if they just went outside.
I opened the hatch to see them holding hands, Ezra's face completely red, and the sunset between them.
At first, I thought it was so sweet. I actually felt happy for him.
That was, until he went in for a kiss. Sabine was not ready for it and slapped him in the face out of reaction.
I covered my mouth and closed the hatch door. When it was closed, I burst into laughter. Hera was startled, grabbed her gun, and pointed it at me. Sarah leaped out of her seat and hit her head on the dash.
I slowly stopped laughing. Hera put her gun down and sighed, while Sarah rubbed her head and came over to me.
"What the heck was that about?" she asked, still rubbing a certain spot on her head.
"Ezra... hehe... and Sabine...ha... Ezra tried to..." I couldn't contain myself. I started cracking up again. Hera and Sarah looked at me confused. Sarah closed her clear eyes and stayed like that for a while.
When she opened her eyes, she started cracking up, too. Hera, however, was utterly confused. "What are you laughing about?"
Sarah said, "I read Zeb's mind, and I saw Ezra and Sabine holding hands. Ezra leaned in and... and... hehe... Sabine slapped him... hahaha.... His expression was priceless."
Sarah walked over to Hera and said, "Wanna see?"
Hera hesitated, but agreed. Sarah put her hand in her forehead and, apparently, "gave" her the memory.
She smiled and almost laughed, but she quickly recovered and said in a motherly way, "That is so sad. Why would you both be laughing at that?"
I could tell she was trying so hard not to laugh, which made Sarah and me laugh even harder.
Hera climbed up to the top, turned back to us, and signaled to be quiet. We went dead silent. She opened the hatch and looked out.
After a few seconds, she motioned us up.
There was enough room for all of us to squeeze in and look at the amazing moment happening.
Ezra and Sabine were kissing.
I truly smiled. This was pretty much what all of us suspected would happen. Hera was smiling, too.
Sarah, however, looked like she was going to gag. That alone almost made me crack up.
What sent me over the edge was when Ezra and Sabine came out of the kiss and noticed us.
All of us, even Sarah, started laughing our heads off. Sabine and Ezra slowly joined in.
Man, we have one crazy family.
Man, I am really far behind on writing about Star Wars Rebels. But, it at least gives me a chance to process everything that happened.
I will say one thing important:
The ending is going to be way different than the TV show, so that's something to look forward to.
Byeeeeee!!
