"No I'm not."
"Yes, and I was asking your mother where you were, but you finally came home."
"I'm so not moving in with you!" I shouted standing again. My mother tried to calm me but I was on a rampage and nothing could. I walked away from the both in a hurry, trying to get to my room before someone stopped me. I almost did. The key word was almost.
"Ella," Markus growled pulling me back and slamming me against the wall adjacent from the living room and stairs. "You don't have a choice on this."
"I do, and I'm not going so you can kiss my ass Markus," I spat angrily.
"I wouldn't have a problem doing that," He explained and looked at me. "I'm sorry."
"What?"
"I'm sorry about everything. The pain, the anger, the sadness I gave you, I'm sorry, I'm very, very sorry and I want to explain everything, but I'm scared if you know they'll come for you too."
"They who?" I asked pulling my arms away from him.
"They people who kill my parents and your dad. I'm scared that they'll hurt you."
"Why would they hurt me?"
"Because everyone who knows the truth died,"
"Why do they want to hurt us?"
" To get back at me," He stepped back and rake a hand through his hair. "Because I didn't chose them."
"What are you talking about?" I snorted. "You aren't making any sense."
"Trust me, you don't even want to know,"
" But you want me to move in with you? And what you're telling me is making me afraid for my life."
"Markus," My mother's voice injected the conversation. "Maybe it's time to tell her the truth."
"If I want her killed, then I would; I want to protect her."
"But like this?"
"It's the only way-"
"No, maybe you need to be a man and tell her everything, and from the beginning."
"Markus?" Carla voice said soothing.
"All you say it that you want to protect me but you can't even tell me what you've done so that you have to protect me."
"I didn't do anything," He explained.
"Then tell me what this is all about!"
There was complete and utter silence as I waited for Markus to answer me. He seemed reluctant a first and then the look in his eyes shown pure sadness.
"Carla, take my car and go home."
"Markus are you sure?"
"Go home," He growled angrily. "Now."
She took his keys as he held them out for her and my mother left into the living where Carla was. I heard his car start and sped away down the back road and I furrowed my brows waiting.
"Lets talk upstairs." He said stepping back allowing me to move upstairs like my original plan. I walked upstairs and my mother gave me a solemn look before looking away. I was now more confused then ever. Was the truth that bad? We made it to my room, which my mom cleaned as it could tell; must have took her hours though, it was spotless.
"What is it?" I asked sharply.
"Sit down."
"I don't need to," I said. "Just talk-"
