Chapter Five: I Met A Guy Named Tyler

"Despite recent and unimaginable events, I, for one, think that we must instantly engage in protecting ourselves and lands." Elder Walter said to us. ' Us' consisted of Markus, Damon, his Beta, me, Rowan, and the surviving Elders. "We must prepare for action."

I stuff my hands into my pocket trying to stay warm, and being ¾ human doesn't help with my odds. I moved closer to Rowan who wore a regular jacket on a mountain. A mountain for God's sake! She had her neck twisted in the direction of Markus. I told her about last night and she was beyond pissed, but I wouldn't let her do anything about it. There was nothing to do.

"We set perimeters up and constant patrolling and then irregular sweeps by the Alpha in that area. We keep constant tabs on everyone and everything, mean while we force some information out of the prisoner we got." I offered as my suggestion and Elder Walter nodded and I tucked back into Rowan's side.

"We don't have enough men," Damon interjected.

"Then get more men, simple as that." Rowan was trying to show off. She thinks she's better than Damon and by the same and look on his face, she's definitely feelings better.

"So we're going to pull them out of thin air?" Damon snapped.

"No, we're going to get your lazy bums that sleep all day from the Amazon and put them were they're needed."

"They are needed, and that's there."

"So the rain forest is under attack by crazy chimps and need four hundred werewolves to control them?" She asked.

He growled and Rowan rolled her eyes. Markus looked at me during the whole fight and I looked up at Rowan's flawless skin against the shimmering sunrise. Even when yelling, she managed to look calm and cool.

"So I'm glad we discussed that, now the Alpha union."

Dreading this moment since I woke up, what am I supposed to do? Oh I don't feel like mating with Markus because he's a total douche bag and I have no feelings about the pack? No, it's for the pack and they're my family, even though some family members lack respect for me or my feelings. I tucked tighter into Rowan and my legs began to hurt, damn my human side is so annoying sometimes.

"I expect Markus and you to be moving in with each other soon?" Elder Walter asked.

"Um..." I started. Markus looked at me also and waited for my answer. "It's...I'm...We...Us...Um..."

"She hasn't decided yet if Markus should move in, she doesn't trust him, then again, who would?"

"Your opinion doesn't matter," Damon snapped.

"But your opinion about my opinion does? Pfft, please. Better know who you talking to, I'm not one of your little inferior males."

"You're right, your inferior female."

"I'm Beta,"

"Since when, and for how long? Five hours? You definitely aren't my status."

"I'm just as much Beta as you are."

"Yeah, I don't think so, why don't you go curl your hair or something?"

"Oh, I can do that and manage my responsibilities, unlike some people."

"When have I not?"

"Quest Moon, you managed to get three fights going and not stopping one of them, because the Alpha was too busy fucking Carla."

"That's it," Markus snapped at Row. I jumped between them and pressed Markus back.

"Watch who you're talking too," I snapped back.
