Never in my life did I see this coming: Me, HYDRA's very own Red Chaos, feeling the strong urge to tell two complete strangers about my entire life. A tale no person had ever dared to hear. If today hadn't been such a wild day already, this probably would've been the weirdest, and most awkward situation in my life. Sitting across from the man who nursed his black eye and introduced himself as "philanthropist, playboy, millionaire, in that order, Tony Stark" and Nat, who's real name was "Natasha Romanoff, best spy in the world," who would prefer me to call her Nat. She was my dad's best friend, and for a second when she first introduced herself, I thought she was going to tell me she was my mother.

We were in a jet. The black soaring aircraft was bigger than the HYDRA Jet I was used to. The black jet I was used to was usually seated by one, not three. There were two seats instead of twelve, six lining both sides of the wall. There was more room in this jet to fill the awkward silence in.

"So you're an assassin." Tony, of course, broke the ice with a short inhale. "That works for HYDRA."

My mouth was zipped tight. It was a habit, keeping secrets. Being the best kept secret in the world kind of made it hard to be so open all of the time. Especially in times like this, when that meant spilling all your deepest secrets to two people you had just met that day.

I just stared at the two of them.

"Lila you can talk to us," Nat encouraged, leaning forward in her seat. "No one's going to hurt you, we just want to figure out who you are."

"If I tell you who I am I'll have to kill you."

Nat smirked. A match sparked in my core when I felt her challenge of a reaction. She must've felt my hostile energy because she explained, "I seriously doubt you'd be successful in killing me. Tony, maybe"-

Tony interjected and rose his head. "Rude."

-"but I'll make sure you're kept in check. I can do that for you. Now, what you can do for me is spill. Start with what you remember. How old were you when they kidnapped you?"

I swallowed, a nervous habit of mine, then looked at the two of them. Something in the way that they looked me in the white of my eyes told me I could trust them. But me telling them everything wasn't all about trust, there was the factor of life and death. Their lives were on the line, along with the line of this 'family' of mine they were taking me to. I could tell, by the moment I opened my mouth, that things wouldn't be the same from now on. It wasn't just me I had to look out for anymore. It was all the people who looked me in the eye and told me I could trust them. So far that included Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff. I could tell the list of people I could trust was about to grow immensely.
