Raegan's POV
My phone started ringing as I was trying to open the door, I was juggling my gym bag, a handful of groceries, and the key that was stuck in the lock, stupid landlord don't fix anything. The door flew open and I almost fell through it. There went my phone on the floor, I saw a 706 area code and GA displayed under it. Who is that?  I don't know anyone in Georgia I thought. "Hello?" I answered.

"Is this Raegan?" The guy with a deep southern drawl asked, the voice had a eery familiarity to it.

"Yeah, who's this?" I replied, sitting my gym bag down on the couch.

"Brantley" was the only thing that he said. My heart started beating and I thought it'd beat out of my chest. After hearing that song that Rich sent over I had been all over the place today. I could not get him out of my mind.

"Um, hey." Was all I managed to get out. There was a awkward silence then he spoke up.

"So, I wanted to say I'm sorry for bolting that night. It was a dick move. But, I've been thinking of you every day since. I'm not just using that as a line because it's the truth, I've been a royal ass to those around me. So much so that PJ my head of security got your number and gave it to me."

I didn't know what to think. Honestly, I was at a loss for words. I didn't think I'd hear from him again unless it was for work covering the festival.  "I heard the new song, Rich sent it over, it's beautiful" was all I managed to get out. What he said next I never thought I'd hear, "I wrote it about us, about that night."  Deep down, I felt that's what it was about, but hearing it, just solidified it, I tear slipped from the corner of my eye and I wiped it away absentmindedly.

"I thought that's what it was about when I heard it, but didn't want to assume anything. I was hoping it wasn't about Jana." I heard a low growl from the other end of the line. I hoped I didn't poke the bear with that one.

"You know my brother said the same thing today. No, it wasn't about that hmhmm" he sing songed causing me to laugh. We talked for a bit, caught up on what was going on. He mentioned he just got booked for RWB, which I already knew about. "Rae, I hate to, but I have to go, I've got a recording session I have to get to in a few minutes. I'll give you a call either tonight when we get done or tomorrow."  "Ok, I'll talk to you later, B."  We said our goodbyes and hung up.

I honestly couldn't believe after six months I heard from him again. I went and showered and slipped on my old UK Wildcats tee from college and my boy shorts, threw my hair up in a messy bun, and went and threw together a chicken Caesar salad for dinner. I decided I get caught up on SWAT from the past couple of weeks. About midnight I was half asleep when I hear my phone ding with an incoming text from Brantley that read "Goodnight beautiful." I smiled when I read it, typed out "goodnight 😘"

I sent my best friend Sara a text to see if she was still up, I had to talk to someone about this-thankfully she was. When I told her 911 in the message, my phone rang literally two seconds later.   "What's wrong, where's the fire?" She asked in a panic. I couldn't help but laugh. "No fire, but I need girl time, can you come over?
"Now?  At midnight?" She replied.

"Yes, it's important. Like life changing, you'll kill me for never telling you about it before, important."

"Be there in 20" she replied and hung up. Fifteen minutes later she walked through the door, wearing fuzzy pajamas, a GA hoodie, and Uggs. She flopped down on the sofa and says "ok spill."  I told her about the show six months prior, about the best sex of my life, how I hadn't heard from Brantley until just a few hours ago, the new single being about us, and how he is slated to play at RWB. After everything, she sat there for a minute unable to speak. When she finally did talk, she looked me dead in the eyes and said, "so let me get this straight, you meet the bad boy of country, bang him, don't hear from him for six months, then he calls you out of the blue, oh and he writes a song about you?"  I nodded, "yes pretty much."  She sat there for a minute, looked at me, and replied, "damn girl, I picked the wrong line of work."
