Chapter 16

Jaime watch as Juan puts a flower on Bart's hair and making him smile softly.

"Hey, Tim. If you don't mind. What are Juan and Bart? Are they a thing?" Jaime asked Tim hiding his hurt face.

Tim looked up from the book he was reading and looked towards Bart who was braiding Milagro's hair while Juan was looking around and being on guard. He chuckles softly and looks at Jaime with a smirk.

"Why? Are you jealous?" Tim asked making Jaime blush and look away.

"N-No...I just want to know..." Jaime said softly.

Tim smiles softly, lets out a sigh and close his book.

"Well, for starters, Juan is Bart's childhood best friend before he meets me. They were close to each other and all. Even took their first kiss together." Tim laughs softly while Jaime growls angrily. "But that doesn't matter. Juan can't exactly get to be with Bart because of he-"

Tim covered his mouth fast while Jaime looked at him.

"Because he what??" Jaime said looking at Tim. "Tim, what are you hiding?"

"N-Nothing! I said too much!" Tim smiles softly. "The only things that matter is that Bart has  a tiny crush on you sooo you better work your way up!" 

Tim stood up fast and walk away while Jaime watches him leave with eyes of curiosity. He looked at Juan and gasp softly taking notice of his armor and how it resembles a royal squire and how it has a lightning bolt symbol. He looks at how Juan acts around Bart and started putting the puzzles together.

"H-He a prince...but from what land?" Jaime whisper and looked at Tim, who was blushing crazy and talking to Conner. "So that would mean Tim, is also a prince." 

 Jaime smiled and looked at Bart, who was staring at him and smile softly at him. He stood up and told something to Juan, who wanted to argue but stop when Bart held his hand up. Jaime smirk. That was all he needed to see to finally put things together. He smiled when Bart walked towards him and wave.

"Sooo I heard you can sword fight, Jaime." Bart smiled making Jaime blush softly.

"Yeah I-I can," Jaime said while rubbing his hair.

He looked up and took notice how Milagro was keeping Juan busy by taking him away from the training room, Tim and Conner were walking down the path toward the garden holding hands making him smile. He grabs Bart's hand and walking through the doors and leading down the halls. Bart was blushing like crazy and looked at Jaime's hand and smiled softly thinking about how Jaime's hand were warm. They walked out the kingdom and headed toward the beach.

"So, Bart. Tell me something about yourself," Jaime asked while Bart looked at him.

"What do you mean?" Bart asked while watching Jaime.

"Well, you come out of nowhere with Tim and becoming friends with Milagro. There has to be a story to that." Jaime smiled while watching a seagull fly by.

Bart looked at Jaime, worried that he probably figure everything out but sighed out quietly and smiled.

"Well, I live with my Grandma and Grandpa, Tim and I meet Milagro here to be honest. Tim was a bit...concern about meeting her because of she...a princess." Bart said while moving his hands. "She then started showing us crash stories about mermaids and how it would be crash to meet one." 

Jaime chuckles softly thinking about how Milagro manage to make Bart and Tim friends by showing them a book about mermaids. He smiled softly seeing how Bart was talking about himself and how he and Tim love to go on adventures and solving mysterious. 

"That pretty much." Bart smiled but mostly for himself. 

Surprise, that he managed to make up a story about his life without the tail or the water. Making it sound like a human story. He looked at Jaime and blush when he saw he was taking his shirt off and gasp when he turned around.

"S-Sorry!" Bart yelp while covering his eyes.

"Hehee it's fine Carino." Jaime smiled.

"O-Okay," Bart said peeking out his fingers and blushed like crazy.

Jaime was muscular but not that muscular. He had a well-toned body, beautiful muscles and a four pack. He felt his heart beating and felling butterflyfishes inside his stomach once again.

'M-Maybe he m-my mermaid mate...that how Wally felt.' Bart thought, seeing Jaime smirk and waving his hand.

"Come on Bart. Let's go swimming." Jaime said looking at the sea and seeing how the sun shines brightly on the beautiful sea. 

"Wait, w-what?" Bart said looking at Jaime walking to the sea and turn around to him.

"The sea. To get wet." Jaime chuckles grabbing Bart's hand.

"I-I can't...I-I" Bart panic knowing that if he goes inside the water and get's his necklace wet he'll be back to a mermaid. "I-I can't swim that good..."

Jaime looked at Bart, who was looking down afraid. He smiles softly and put his hand on Bart's cheek making him look at him.

"Hey, it's okay. I can teach you." Jaime said making Bart blush even more.

"I-I..." Bart said feeling Jaime pulling Bart close to him. 

"BART!!" Jaime and Bart gasp seeing Juan running towards him.

"Juan!?" Bart said watching Juan pull out his sword making his eyes go wide. "Juan NO!!" 

Jaime gasp and pulled out his sword, thankfully he didn't take his pants off including his sword, and block the hit with his dark blue sword and push Juan back. Juan growled and lung at Jaime, who growled a blocked the attack. Bart was watching his best friend and crush clashing swords that he took notice how Jaime's sword was glowing and how Jaime's eyes were starting to glow yellow. He also took notice how the sword was starting to give Jaime a blue armor but slowly.

"Stop it!!" Bart yelled running in front of Jaime when he shoved Juan back leaving an open space.

Juan gasp and stop his next attack so he wouldn't hurt Bart and looked at Jaime seeing how he was glaring at him deadly.

'Mermaids, he's a mermaid Jaime Reyes' Khaji Da said making Jaime's eyes go wide.

"Khaji Da, are you sure.' Jaime asked quickly and sighed feeling Khaji Da leaving his head when the sword stop glowing.

"What were you thinking!??!" Bart shouted while pointing his finger at Juan. "He's the prince of these lands. You kill him or even harm him, were moded!!" 

"B-Bart, I didn't mean too. You were gone and I panic. I have to stay close to you."Juan said with his hands out. "Please, I didn't mean harm."

Bart sighed and gasp softly when Jaime put his hands on his shoulder and smiled softly at him.

 "It's fine, Bart. We made one mistake. Lucky, my guards weren't here, Juan." Jaime smiled while Juan nod. 

Jaime smiled and grab his shirt hearing Bart and Juan whispering but smiled. Thanks to Khja Da, he finally knows their secret and what exactly Bart and his friends are. He couldn't wait to know more about them and what exactly Bart is to the merpeople. Most importantly, Milagro was right about the mermaids.

A/N: Boom!! Khaji Da will never be left out. Instead of him being a bug armor do heck thingy. He shall be a sword. More about sword Khaji Da will come and how Jaime possess it later on in the chapters.
