She goes to the river
to wash away her tears
by drowning them in water
she hopes to flush out all her fears.
She owes him no more heartbreak
she shouldn't waste another drop.
He doesn't care about the pain she's in
that was clear when he walked out.
Yet, still she makes this journey
to the shore of melancholy
bathes her tired and weary body
hoping to cleanse her misery.
