There was a moment yesterday
when I thought I saw your smile
reflected in the window pane
so I hung around for a while
to see if I could remember
how it felt there in your arms
surrendering to feelings
I'd kept locked away from harm.
I closed my eyes and could almost
feel your skin upon mine
the scent of you overpowering
images of our bodies entwined.
But then as my eyes opened
the smile I saw was gone
along with all feelings of you
I was once again, alone.
