She didn't want their pity
that was far worse than the pain.
She knew it wasn't their intention
yet, time and time again
they would look at her
with benevolent eyes
she would scream inside
horrific tortured cries.
She wanted anger from them
she wanted some of the blame
she wanted something to confirm
she deserved all this pain
but it never came.
Always so understanding
just assuming and guessing
what they didn't know.
But she knew
so she screamed.
