Chapter 30

Crystal's POV- I was finally off my period after a week. NYC was amazing. Next stop was LA. My phone ringed. It was my mom. "Hey mom!," I said cheerfully. I could hear faint sobs. "Honey. Your grandmother is in the hospital. She had a stroke," mom cried. "Stroke", hit me hard. Tears immediately filled my eyes. "Wait, is she okay?," I asked. "She's still unstable but the doctor said, it's almost time for her last hours or days," Mom sniffled.

My heart sank. "Tears fell down my cheeks. "Alright mom. I'm going to fly over there. Don't worry it's fine. She's gonna be fine," I said, knowing she wouldn't be. "Thank you Crystal. Call me when you land," Mom trailed off. I hanged up. Why my grandma, I thought. Tears blurred my vision. My breathing was heavy, heartbeat fast. I buried my face into my hands. I slid down, and hugged my knees to my chest. Heavy sobbing, broken heart.

Matt's POV- We were heading to LA. Carter and I walked to my hotel room. We were gonna leave soon. I opened the door, and saw Crystal on the floor, covering her face, sobbing her eyes out. I immediately ran to her. I took her hands from her face. "Crystal, what's wrong!," I said. She hiccuped. "I'm so sorry Matt. I have to leave now," Crystal cried. "My grandmother is severe, and doctors say that this might be her last hours or days," Crystal said. I gasped. Crystal lost it. She collapsed into my arms. I held her tight. Carter just stared blankly. "Shh, don't cry. I promise you we will go right now. Calm down," I whispered into her ear. I lifted her chin to look at me.

Her bright eyes, dull. Her cheeks stained with tears. I kissed her forehead. It hurt me seeing her like this. Her grandmother dying. I called Bart, and told him. He said he was calling a plane for us.
*2 hours later*

Crystal's POV- we were on the plane, and a 7 hour flight ahead. My heart heart a lot. I didn't fe el like talking or eating. Matt has been so calm about this. He was super comforting.
*magic time skip*

Crystal's POV- We arrived and a taxi took us to the hospital. I held Matt's hand the whole time. We arrived at the hospital. I asked the nurse at the front desk where to find my grandmas room. "It's room 305," she smiled. I gave her a weak smile. We were at the room. I breathed in deeply. I opened the door and saw my mother looking like a mess. She didn't look like her cheery self. I felt my throat tighten. I gripped Matt's hand. I hugged my mom and dad. "How's Grandma Alejandra?," I asked. "Fine," Mom mumbled. I sighed. Mom & Dad stepped out.

I walked near Grandma's bed. She looked lifeless. I held her hand. "Hi grandma. I love you so much. You are a strong woman, and thank you for loving me. Thank you for being there for me, making me my favorite food,". I chuckled. "I hope you can still make it. You know how Mom loves you. It won't be the same. I love you with all my heart," my voice cracked. Tears were like a river, flowing down my face. This was the hardest moment of my life.

Matt's POV- the boys texted me, what happened. They all said they had Crystal & her grandma in prayers. I listened to Crystal. She broke out in tears. A tear escaped my eye. Seeing her hurt like that, made me broken inside. She was my everything. Alejandra opened her eyes. "I love you Crystal. Take care of everyone for me," Alejandra said. She closed her eyes. The heart monitor, slowed down. And a long beep was heard. I looked at Crystal.

She was crying hard. I wrapped my arms around her waist. She burrowed her head into my chest. I could feel her heavy sobs. I rubbed circles on her back. "Babe, calm down. She's in a better place, I promise," I whispered. Tears spilled down my face. My angel was hurt. Broken. She was loosing her wings.
