first encounter: a short story
The last time I saw you, I broke up with you and walked away. I knew it was for the best too because you were the one who made me hate my body after what you almost did to it.
Then years later I saw you, I was at a football game and I was talking to someone. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw you coming towards me with a smile on your face.
Fear overshadowed me, it gripped me tight as I saw your face. My body became stiff and the person I was talking to seemed to notice.
And when you reached me, you greeted me like nothing happened. Then, the day I waited for came. I looked you dead in the eyes, laughed and said, "I don't like you, goodbye."
The smile on your face soon disappeared, maybe because of the fact that I still remembered what you almost did to me. I felt strong at that moment for facing you.
Because that's when you realized that it was a mistake to greet me like an "old friend"
Because I wasn't going to give into that bullshit.
