Last chapter is here. Sighs!

"I'll spend a day with you."

Pari said on the call, the words Sameer has been waiting to hear for three weeks now. If someone thought that she'd agree the moment he posed the question in front of her, then certainly the answer was no. As much as she understood his reason, she didn't forget that being close to him might be painful for both of them, especially him since he was the one in that phase where he was hanging in between a line which went to her.

When she didn't give him any reply that night, the other morning he had actually decided to move out from her place, not wanting to make it uncomfortable for her any more. Her parents have come to their rescue and offered for him to stay at their place until he finds a suitable job, and house. It was of course an unexpected move for Sameer but not having any choice, he agreed when they insisted like they were his parents. For a moment only, he had felt the genuine love and care of parents, and not wanting to sound disrespectful, he agreed.

And since, then he hadn't really seen her, nor she pestered or interfered in his activities until the end of the first week, when she informed him on the call about a job offer in the Canadian MNC. On further queries, Sameer had learned that it was the company of Sharansh's father; the guy who once adored her. But now he was married with a cute little baby girl but maintained his friendship with Pari and was ready to help her in any way he could.

With his expertise, Sameer managed to pass the interview rounds; and as shocking as it was to him, but the questions regarding his career gap weren't even brought in either of the two interviews he gave.

He knew he had to thank Pari for that, but he didn't dare to call her, not wanting to drown in her soothing voice.

But now that he was leaving for Canada, the other week, and she called out of nowhere, declaring the words, it made him happy as well as sad.

"You don't have to do this, Pari. If you don't want to." He said cautiously, but internally he wanted a day with her, and for her.

Just them with no stress.

"You're leaving, next week. It's least I could do for you, for not forcing me to get back with you." Came the reply that made him smile sadly.

"And in return you made my life again." He said in fact. He doubted if without her recommendation or kind nature, he would have even got a job ever in his life; his past deeds have been repented, but they were never going to leave him alone ever.

"I didn't do anything. It's you who passed the interviews with your knowledge, and trust me, Sharansh told me that his father is really impressed by your skills and knowledge. You've a long way to go, Sameer." He heard her saying, and he knew, she had that small smile on her lips again.

"I've a long lonely way to go." He whispered with a hint of sadness.

Before she could reply, he immediately composed himself, and added, "Okay, so be ready tomorrow at 5am. We'll start our day together."

He immediately cut the call, before she could ask further.

Pari frowned once the call ended abruptly. She laid on her bed, and closed her eyes, as she felt herself tearing up again, and she didn't even know why. She just wished at times to cry silently in the night; whether anyone said anything or not, she stayed in her bubble away from every word of the society.

Being a single woman was hard, but it wasn't impossible now; was it?

People were there to remind her the importance of having a man beside her, but she was someone, who realised the value of the words, and allowed them to become the encouragement of her life.
