Everything happen way to fast, it wasn't going as planned, Samuel had Gemma around his finger again. Lesley carried four of his children making her Adelia's victim while Josephine ignored Lesley pleas and begging for help.
Death happened, Ethel was whipped to death while Samuel was away and Adelia ordered it. Mamie spoke back to Samuel after he took Gemma into the white room and beat her black and blue, impregnating her once more. Mamie was whipped one last time before she fought back and was shot in front of everyone.
Jeremy was the one who healed his mother back to health those three months, all the while her belly swelled, she was only a month. The cottons began to dry out and animals began to die, dropping dead within weeks, it was making Samuel go crazy.
Today was just adding onto the cursed land.
Every slave on the property sat or stood around Mamie's cabin, Gemma sitting in view of everyone along with Ruth and Misty, those were the two who held this meeting.
Misty looked around everyone with the most fierce look anyone has ever seen. "Mamie soul is stuck on this here land. Everything here is rotting and it's not gonna be us" she pointed at everyone. "It's time we all run" she advised which caused tension and fear. "Now I know this seems scary, but I overheard Samuel speaking with some men about alcohol being shipping down here, near the Pontchartrain lake. It's a long way from here, miles and miles, but that ain't ever stop us from running, if you don't want to go that far, you better make a long run for it tomorrow".
"There is someone on our side, he can ship a few people on carriage into Alexandria, he'll only come once, because that's all we got left. One shot at this, I would advise the one's with children to go first, let them get a head start".
She sighed in slight fear "this all starts tomorrow, every women in the house will serve dinner like always. First to go is Josephine" she held up a vial an handed it to Teresa "Gemma will handle Samuel, some of the men will handle the overseers" she announced "and Adelia...I'll handle that bitch" she snarled.
Morning came quick, everyone acted the same, but that sure as hell had their things packed in their cabins. The women worked inside of the house fixing breakfast for the family, including Lesley and Samuel children that he decided to take from her.
