Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The rest of summer passed peacefully and for Lucy and Tyler one date turned into three and then three turned into six and so on. Lucy was stood with Tyler on her front porch as he was dropping her off after another date “I had a really nice night tonight, thank you Tyler” Lucy smiled. Tyler looked at her and he smiled as well “so did I and you don’t need to thank me” he said as he passed his weight between the front of the feet and the back “I was actually wondering if I could ask you something” he said with a hit of nervousness in his voice; Lucy looked at him and smiled “of course” was all she said as she could see how nervous he was. A glint of happiness flashed across Tyler’s face “well I was wondering… seeing as we’ve been on quite a few dates and how I’ve toned down on being a jerk… well I was wondering if you would do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend” Tyler rushed out in a state of panic.

Lucy looked at him and smiled “I’d love to” was all she said. Tyler looked at her and smiled before placing his lips gently on hers. The kiss was sweet and caring however it wasn’t a short one. Lucy wrapped her arms around Tyler’s neck as the kiss deepened just a little. Tyler pulled back and smiled “you have no idea how much I have wanted to do that” he said with a smile on his face. He was about to lean in again but the front door opened to reveal Lucas standing there with a death glare on his face “I think you have man handled my sister enough Jackson… let go of her if you still want your hands” Lucy looked at her brother in disbelief, needless to say she had never been this embarrassed in her life. Tyler removed his hands from Lucy’s hips and held them in the air as if to surrender “look man…” was all Tyler could say before Lucas received a slap across the head “I told you not to open the door… did I not warn you that you would have to deal with a very pissed off best friend” Mia said in a very stern voice. As annoyed as Lucy was she couldn’t help but laugh at her best friend.

Lucy looked at Tyler and planted a small kiss on his lips “thank you again for tonight, I had a wonderful time” she said as she pulled away “as did I dancer”. Over the summer Tyler had called her dancer a lot and even though it use to annoy her she has gotten use to it; it was sort of his pet name for her and she smiled when she heard it. After saying goodbye, Lucy and Mia made their way to Lucy’s room “so details… I want details” was the first thing Mia said as she sat on Lucy’s bed. Lucy kicked her heels off and placed her bag on her desk “it was wonderful Mi. he took me to this gorgeous restaurant on the river front, we had a candle lit dinner and then walked down the river” Lucy smiled remembering the date which took place a few hours ago “he asked me to be his girlfriend” Lucy said as she took her dress off. She had known Mia for 14 years she was passed the point of caring when it came to changing clothes in front of her “oh my god!!” Mia screamed as Lucy pulled on an oversized t-shirt and some pj shorts “what did you say” Mia rushed out leaning forwards, Lucy knew if she wasn’t careful Mia would be on the floor in seconds “I said yes and then he kissed me” Lucy said as she climbed onto her bed.

Mia’s face lit up like a Christmas tree at the details she was receiving “oh my god!! You had your first kiss” she practically screamed. Lucy looked horrified as she dived to cover her best friend’s mouth before the whole neighborhood heard. Luckily no-one, meaning her brother, came barging into her room after that bit of information was shouted. After Mia made Lucy give a very in depth recount of what the kiss was like she made her way to her room. Seeing as how the girls were starting school tomorrow Mia was staying over so that the girls could get ready together and so that they could arrive at school together. As Mia was settling into bed her door was pushed open and revealed Lucas stood there “hey Mimi” he said giving her a smile which made her melt inside “I just wanted to say that if you need anything tomorrow at school don’t be scared to ask” and with that he gave her another knee buckling smile before closing the door and walking off to his room.
