Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Since the party Lucy was still not completely sure if she had slept with Tyler or not but seeing how he was being strange and distant with her she couldn't ask. It had been 4 weeks since the party and a week since Christmas had passed and in that space of time Lucy had barely spoken to Tyler, their conversations consisted of a few 'yeahs' and 'okays' but not enough to actually ask what happened that night, However since that night Lucy had been feeling funny. A few days after the party, Lucy had realized that the reason her coke had tasted strange was because alcohol had been put in it, however she wasn't sure whether Tyler had done it or if the alcohol was already in the coke to start with. Nevertheless Lucy had realized she had possibly lost her virginity whilst under the influence of alcohol and that thought alone had made her feel even more funny.

However Lucy's biggest worry came a week after Christmas when she realized that she was late for her period. Usually her body was good with timing and she had never had a late period or missed one either. She knew she couldn't speak to her mum because she would most likely be killed, she couldn't speak to her brother because 1) it was an awkward topic to discuss with her brother 2) Tyler would most likely be killed and 3) Lucas would be done for intended murder if he ever found out Tyler took her virginity when she was drunk. Lucy waited a few days to see whether her body was just messing around, however when her period didn't turn up later she suddenly began to panic more. She knew she only had one option and frankly she didn't like it but she didn't want to take the risk. Lucy got the bus into the next town over as she didn't want to risk running into anyone she or her parents knew because if this got back to her parents she would be grounded for the rest of her life.

Getting off the bus Lucy walked to the small supermarket which was in the town. Wondering up and down the aisles Lucy looked for what she needed, she didn't want to ask as it was going to be embarrassing enough buying it let alone asking for one. Once Lucy found what she needed she stood looking at all the different makes. They all seemed to do the same thing however they gave the answer in different ways. Some had more in the packet, some only had one. Lucy made the option to buy a box which had more than one in, she wanted to be safe and this was the only way she could put her mind at ease. Walking to the till she stopped on the candy aisle; if this turned out to be bad news she was going to be in need of some comfort food. Once she had what she needed Lucy made her way to the till to pay. Placing the items on the conveyor belt, the cashier looked at her and it was clear that disgust was written across her face "that will be $22.95" the women asked. Lucy paid and stuffed the items in her bag; as she was walking away Lucy heard the women speaking under her breath "slut". Taking a deep breathe Lucy ignored the comment and made her way back to the bus stop.

Once Lucy got to the bus stop her phone rang, pulling it out of her pocket she looked at the name "hey bitch" she said jokingly "hey hoe where you at" Mia asked on the phone, "I'm in Riverdale" Lucy said without thinking "why are you in Riverdale" Mia asked, confusion clear in her voice "I was looking for something which we don't have in Riverbank" Lucy said as the bus pulled up. Giving the correct amount to the driver Lucy went and sat at the back of the bus "what's up" Lucy asked before Mia could question her anymore "I need you to come over, I need to speak to you" Lucy could detect the urgency in her friend's voice "I shouldn't be long, I'm on the bus now" Lucy said. The bus which Lucy was on ran between Riverbank and Riverdale, running past Mia's house en route.

After 20 minutes on the bus, Lucy got off around the corner from Mia's. Walking round the corner Lucy's bag felt heavy. She panicked thinking what was in her bag wasn't hidden enough but she knew that Mia would never go in her bag, not without asking first. Getting to Mia's house, Lucy knocked and opened the door "hello family" she shouted like she normally did "Mia is in her room" Lucy heard Jenna shout from the kitchen. Walking up to Mia's room, Lucy dropped her bag near the door and dived on Mia's bed "AHHH don't do that" Mia screamed as she pulled her ear phones out "hehe love you" Lucy said laughing at her friend's reaction "so what's up" Lucy asked as she rolled over and stared up at Mia's ceiling "well I want your. Erm. Approval?" Mia questioned her word choice "approval, yeah, I want your approval on something" Mia said standing up and walking around the room.
